I don't like that move. HMS should keep Mears.

For Mark Martin to spend the Twilight of his career at HMS would be rather fitting! He deserves the equipment and respect he'll get and he still has plenty to offer! I have to wonder though - what if L'il Kyle had been allowed to stick around - Oh What A Feelin'!

My mother almost said the exact same thing 10 minutes ago. Spooky. Except for the Kyle comment she dislikes him.

Makes no sence to me. Why would Hendricks want a guy that is on the way down and doesn't even want to race every week? They have 3 of the best drivers now. Maybe the plan is to work some young in with Martin once in awhile. I agree Mears doesn't have it so why keep him around?

Just read on NASCAR.com that Mears may be going to RCR in their 4th car. And HMS my have Mark team up with Brad K. like he is doing with Aric this year and Regan Smith last year...

Sure will be interesting how things play out.

A scenario to ponder, Mark Martin to Hendrick in 2009 to run a final full season. Follow that up with Stewart to Hendrick in 2010. Tony wants back in with Chevy but he wants to win too. Tony and Junior have been unofficial team mates for years and to they would be great together.

Gordon, Johnson, Junior & Stewart…WOW!

Even if Martin only does a partial season with Brad Keselowski driving some races it could still work. Junior wants to start his own Cup team and he could do that in 2010 with Brad as his driver. Splitting time with Mark would give Brad experience worth more than money.

Tony wants some say in his team and Rick would give him that, just like he gave Junior.

Interesting scenario.. Let's add a little twist to that.. MM & BK drive the 5 in 2009 with Smoke staying at JGR then in 2010 Jr makes JRM a cup team. To do this Hendrick would need to give up his part of JRM because of the 4 team rule. Hendrick gives Smoke his interest in JRM as part of the deal. In 2010 Smoke takes over the 5 at HMS. Now that BK has a little experience in Cup (thanks to MM in the 5) BK get a cup ride at JRM and MM buddies up with Landon Cassill. This would put 2 cup cars in the field for JRM with room to grow.

That is the senario I had in mind, but you put it to words much better.

Who I cheer for on raceday:
1. Gordon
2. Junior (Now that he drives for Rick.)
3. Other Hendrick Cars
4. Any Hendrick Powered Car
5. Any Chevy

why do I get the feeling you like HMS (HA HA). Always cheered for Jr.. but liked Gordon too. There's not too many drivers I don't like but I do have my favs and a few that I could do without.

I would say Stewart or Newman would make great addition to HMS. I think they would both be a good fit, but I think that Newman would be the better overall fit for the organization.
