I guess it's safe to say Jeff Gordon's best days are behind him. Granted it's mostly been bad luck and bad timing, but I remember when Bobby Labonte had a season like this and he hasn't been the same since

Jeff's my man but no one stays the King of the hill forever. It doesn't matter what sport it is, there's always someone younger, stronger and more hungry snapping at the leader's heels.

Jiffy Jeff appears to be "over the hill" at age 40. No doubt he's the active wins leader and #2 to JJ in championships. But, if he don't make the Chase this year than he may have to think about...retirement.

Jeff is not gonna retire any time soon. He has a least one more championship in him before that happens. He's still the man to beat and has probably led more laps than any driver this season with these end results. Don't ever count him out.

Well sure he WANTS one more championship but is he likely to win another...Nnnah. He hasn't been the man to beat since maybe 2007 when he finished 2nd. JJ has led the most laps by far this season and El Gordo might just finish outside the Chase this year I'm affraid.

I'm afraid you're right he may not be in the chase and I blame a lot of it on Mr. Hendrick doing everything he can to manke Joonyer a winner, even if Jeff has to suffer all the while. I say, " dance with what brought ya ", and Joonyer aint brought nothing to this team. Kyle Busch among others did more for the team during their stints with HMS than Joonyer EVER will.

Anybody ever heard the saying "Not as good as he once was but as good once as he ever was". That is probably pretty close to where Jeff is in his life right now and it's not because he's lost an iota of ability. Jeff has been racing something since he was five years old. That's thirty five years worth of competition. He's racked up all those wins and championships and an untold fortune. Finally he has something more than racing to spend time with, his kids and a beautiful wife. He could still make those daring, race winning moves of his glory days but why. He has nothing to prove anymore. Sophia will love Daddy whether he wins or not. It's the natural aging process we all got through. The thing in Jeff's life that worth dying for isn't racing anymore.

It's ok to be in denial there Bubba Gump. DNF's have nothing to do with laps led. JJ has led 502 laps this season. The closest next is believe it not Jiffy Jeff Gordon with 338.

As I said, Jeff is still the man to beat along with Jimmie.

OK buddy. Jiffy Jeff is the man to beat...now pass me that bong before you hurt yourself. JJ is 5th in points, has won a race, and led the most laps so far but Jeff is the man to beat. Let me know when El Gordo:

A)Wins a race
B)Cracks the Top 10
C)Has the focus to win another championship
D)None of the above

Try to understand this, tool; Jeff has led more laps than any driver other than Jimmie Johnson this year. His finishes don't show this but he's beatin' the crap out of your driver each race. And your driver will tell it like it is unless you're a Joonyer fan....we all know he's the best out there LMMFAO!! Just ask him while he's picking his nose on national TV...what a dumbazz.

Yes, and I had to point that out to you in the first place, douchebag. Still doesn't change the fact that Jiffy Jeff has not won a race, is in 24th place, and simply does not have what it takes to win a championship anymore. It is impossible that El Gordo is beating the crap of MY driver cuz MY driver has been putting the END to almost all his winning of races & championships.

The only point you have douchebag you can cover with your hat. Jeff is the man, always has been. More wins than your driver, and please keep your hat on hahaha!

Hendrick stuck it right up Jeff's butt when he gave Jr his crew chief, crew, cars and garage all for the love of the almighty sales of Jr trinkets.

I agree with you and you know that's hard for the 4 time champ to swallow. I wish Jeff and Jimmie would make their own race team, you know they have the money. Leave Joonyer and Alan G. with Rick and take Kasey when contracts expire.

Yeah ok, my driver STILL owns the car your driver is fortunate to drive.

Oh, yeah, Jeff WAS the man...back in 2001 when had that goofy mustache. It's ALL bout championships these days and don't worry JJ will pass Wonder Boy in wins too just like he passed him in championships. Somebody's gotta make the money on that team and it mays well be Jimmie. Jeff needs to hang it up and focus on his family and let JJ make him some money cuz he ain't. Ah, Mr. Jimmie Johnson, costing Jeff Gordon wins & championships since 2002. LOL
