Patrick Carpentier was just another part of that failed experiment by Brian France to attempt to broaden the base of NASCAR by FORCED diversity. Patrick is just another example of the fact that just because you are good or great in one form of motorsports, it does not mean you will be just as good or great in another. NASCAR needs to realize that the sport needs more great Stock Car Drivers, not just transplants from other forms of racing and tooth paste commercial clones to grow the sport.
