Charlotte engine failures

So Kyle Busch lost an engine AGAIN, this time at Charlotte which is known to be very hard on engines due to the sustained high revs.

If I drove a Toyota which has continuing reliability problems with engines, with several past failures on MY car, I would ask the engine builder to make the Charlotte engine have maximum torque and power at 9,000 RPM and gear the car for that, with a rev limiter.

It might be a little slower but that is a lot better than blowing up.

The Charlotte race is ridiculously long. Too many
guys, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, and
others' engines couldn't stand the strain. They
should cut this stupid race from 600 to 500 miles.

Leave it at 600 miles and let the engine builders figure it out.
