Rain, strategy on Busch's side

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Kurt Busch had strategy and luck on his side. Tony Stewart had neither. That's how Busch wound up ending his 29-race winless string Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the rain-shortened Lenox Industrial ...

Ill be honest, i dont like Carl because of that whole 'Fake you out, Im gonna punch you' thing he did to Matt. You have to be a real piece to pick on Matt Kenseth.
It was just a real jerk thing to do to pretend he was going to punch Matt in the face.
Anyway, Ive never had anyone say anything to me about being a Kenseth fan. Dover, Pocono and Richmond are always loaded with Kenseth fans.
I was lucky enough to be at Dover when Matt won, June of 2006.
Matt hardly ever does burnouts so I was stoked to get this pic....
http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g156/HomeDe...
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME PICTURE!! Thanks so much for sharing it!!
That thing with Matt. I watched that race, it was Kansas, wasn't it? Ok, I listened to Carl complain and ask why Matt was not being so "nice" on the tarmac there. I think Carl even did some of the same whining that I have heard others do before, such as, "He's my teammate and he won't.."
I felt like, baby, it is every guy for himself in your case. Let's face it, they really do not "help each other" so much, all 5 guys. Most of the time, they are not running close, but the two strong arms, Greg and Matt, they are the elite of the group, and I feel are as polite as they could possibly be to anyone. Carl is right in the middle between the 2 young guns (well, Jamie isn't a kid anymore, but he hangs out with the younger ones, so I guess that is why I think of him that way, what a cutie; I am rambling, sorry, but I love my Roush boys), and they are trying to avoid making any "rookie-type" mistakes, which Jamie should be over with.
So, here is Cousin Carl bitchin and complaining, nicely of course, and does not ask to talk on channel 1 or whatever himself. I did hear Matt say to, I guess it was Robbie at the time say he had no clue as to why Carl was upset.
I did. He, he, Matty was just racing him hard. He would stick that DeWalt Power butt of his in Carl's face and Carl could not pass. Then, I remember, and correct me if I am wrong (I am still a rookie myself), Carl wiped out twice and blamed Matt. Remember, the famous out-of-the-car applauding bit we saw Carl do? I listened to Matt on the scanner again, and as fast as a Wisconsinite could say it, "I dunno what he is mad about."
I do. Matty wanted to win, plain and simple. And, if Carl's car was too tight or too loose, what did he want, Matt to fix it??
The problem with Carl is he let it fester inside of him until the next race and when did he flip out, during the Speed interview after that race??? I can still see him trying to make Matt flinch and much to his surprise, Matt didn't. That left hand went up ready...I wonder what Matt was saying!!??? The worst thing, so far, I have heard him say, and I believe it is his favorite word is, "dumbass." He even called himself that!!!
Hey, I have never had the chance to chat with someone like this about Matt; this is great!!! Thanks!
So, The Carl baby made an ass out of himself...in a rather nice way. I have seen worse. The infamous helmet throwing; he could have done that. Or, he could have pulled the same thing Matty did to David G. a few races ago, remember that??? He deliberately rammed into David, paying David back!! Ha, Chip goes, "Uh, you are being fined (I think he said $15,00) and Matt says, "Oh, really?" like, I know, who cares??
I loved it!!!! He can even do something like that and look cool!!
At any rate, Uncle Jack handles these things in a much different way than I think some of the others do. Instead of closed doors and spankings, as you know, he asked Greg to be the mediator and it worked. This is when I found out Matt had been best man at Greg's wedding. I really liked hearing that. Carl on the other hand, took the wild hair out of his butt and went back to normal. I was just so disappointed to find out that those boys really do not know each other that well.

Page 2, continued!!

I should have used my head a little bit better. Greg and Matt are with significant others and have been for a long time. Both are mature and very responsible. Their wild ass days, I guess, are behind them. However, I cannot say the same about Jamie and Carl. I have pics I got from friends who started an online magazine and the kids in some of those pictures are three sheets to the wind in most of them, especially Kasey Kahne!! Jamie hangs out with the young guns like him, Reed, Denny, Brian, etc..because he has more in common with them and not his fellow teammates. David Ragan I have not seen in any pics other than Nascar races or charity events. I have a picture, however, of Greggie with red eyes and a stupid grin on his face!!!
I wonder when the last time Matt ever really got hammered was??????
I love them all! Yes, Carl, too. I remember on this board, some poor man thought the reason why we called him Roid Rage was because he thought Carl had hemorrhoids and that was why he was so cranky. We really were referring to steroids!!!!

There is a clip on YOUTUBE of the roush boys talking about how no one gets along with Carl. Kurt Busch is in it, he said when he was at Roush, Carl was Jeckyl and Hyde and the title of the clip is "Wow If Kurt Busch thinks your a d_ck you must really be a d_ck" LOL

Greg and Matt were always close, even when Kurt was at Roush he and Matt were good friends. I was pleasantly surprised to see Greg and Jamie on TV the following week after the almost punch.... talking about how Carl isnt friends with anyone on the teams, and no one approaches him because he is always a different person. Sounds like roid rage to me. Its common practice when you win, that your teamates call you. Jamie does it, Greg does it, Matt does it, and Kurt used to do it..........Carl has never called a fellow Roush driver to congratulate them. So they dont do it to him.

I liked Kurt when he was at Roush. I have alot of hard feelings about him leaving so I dont cheer for him anymore. Roush Racing stood by him with alot of bone head things he did, and he was planning to leave before he even won the championship.

Anyway, Carl just seems phoney to me. Kurt could be a jerk but at least that is him. Carl was this smiley "Aww shucks, Im just happy to be here" guy, and then the next thing you know he is threatening to make Tony Stewart bleed on the track. It was the first hint for me that the guy was a major azzhole. He is phoney.

Tonys retracted his statements now, but he was right, Carl is Eddie Haskell.

After Tony and Carl talked and made nice, Carl leaned over to him and said "But I can still beat you up" Tony said he wasnt kidding. Said if Carl ever threatened to make him bleed again he better be ready to do it right then and there.

DAAAAAAAMN!! Just like Matt, he sucs at lying, too! I can always tell when he is guilty, like the tape thing.

No, really, I never saw his tush until he crashed a few races ago. You can even ask Mindy over on the Mindy thread. She and a few others bailed off the Tony board when they had trolls trying to get the girls to fight with each other, so ha, Mindy started her own thread. Anyway, Matty wrecked and I was typing, "Matt, oh my honey, are you al.....HEY, he has a nice butt!! I never noticed that before!"

This was right after he crashed and Mindy posts, "Only Dill would think of something like that at a time like this!!"

Well, the moon was in full view, I mean...!

I am bailing out of here, goodnight my friend!! Tons of hugs!!!

Whoa, I will check that Youtube out, if I can find it, I am sure I can. Thanks for sharing.
So, Carl was "f"ed up before the so-called steriod rumors started, huh?
Carl did say that Jimmie Johnson always calls him when he wins a race. Well, I sure as hell hope Carl calls Jimmie! I mean, hey.
I am impressed with one thing that happened recently. The Miami Herald had a big article about how Carl is trying to remind the folks who make up Nascar, especially the drivers, that the fans are what keeps this gig going, it is NOT all about money and that they may lose the fans at the tracks because people are unable to afford not only the horrible gas prices (I do not have a motorhome, but I bet that takes the paycheck to the max), but the tickets and all the other stuff is skyrocketing price-wise. Now, I did learn some common sense things at my first race.
Do not buy the lemonade for $5 and remember they do sell water to drink....HOT water that was cold, but has been soaking in warm water for hours....I could not believe it. We had not spent a lot of money on tickets, but I just HAD to go by Matty's souvenier hauler and, well, you know the rest.
So, Carl took the incentive to stick up for the fans and blah blah. Hell, he won't have a steering wheel if he has nobody to come watch him race and spent money on him. He should be paying us sometimes, eh??? Oh, yea.

Roush boys, page 2

You remember when Greg and Nicole took that little girl who had brain cancer out on the boat for a dinner? Oh, I am being too vague, sorry, Greg's attitude is "this is what we do" so I probably am talking about one of many dinners he and Nicole have taken kids on. It meant so much to the child. She did die.
I guess Carl is going through some "big ego, big head" thing. He could be turning into a, well, pri...Hey, isn't that the title of that story, no, it was a di....!!! Close enough!!!
Ok, if I do have a chance to meet Carl before the end of the year and he is still acting like a crazy person, I promise to ask him if he has hemorrhoids or a wild hair up his ---. While wearing my Matt Kenseth T-shirt and jewelry. That DeWalt jacket they have on sale at the Nascar Superstore is unreal. It is a good thing I live in the tropics. Jacket is beautiful.
Goodnight, friend, thanks for a wonderful Roush time!!! You should see my office. I have a small corner with a terrific poster, a Sam Bass poster that depicts in colour races of long ago and of course, the rest of it looks like the Killer Bees went to town on it. I have Matt all over the place. One of those Beanie Teddys in yellow with Roush racing and #17 on the back. A diecast car, the Bayer one, I believe Bayer sponsored Matty for like #15 races years ago? You know more about that than I do. Goodnight!

Kurt's fans, who are plenty, believe me, I have seen it, seem to understand Kurt's dry sense of humor, which a lot of people find offensive. They just don't get it.

I have respect more than ever for him ever since the brilliant driving he did at Daytona, with all the desire to see Mr. Newman win that race! Kurt was so cool, I loved it!!! Great guy!!

Kurt is a great guy, one thing I have to say he was and is ALWAYS good to his fans. One of very few drivers who on a Sunday morning before race time, he was out in his hauler for 2 hours signing autographs. He missed two times I believe and those were the two races he was benched for. And thats in 7 years because I believe he still does it. Look at Tony Stewart, he complains about having to sign autographs as he is sitting at the autograph table. Youll never see Kurt do that.

When Kurt announced he was leaving, I had just spent hundreds on the Crown Royal leather championship jacket. I was not a happy camper.

Exactly! I know how you feel, only I can catch myself before I go too nuts. I saw the DeWalt jacket and it was one of those "I just have to have it" things, but I stayed strong. Instead, I went for the gold, literally. The Nascar Superstore rarely sells cheap stuff. If you want something cute or whatever to wear around your neck, let's say a #17 necklace of some sort, that is goldtone and has paint that will chip off soon...about $8.00, they have that kind of stuff on other sites.

Not me, I just HAVE to have the good stuff. I now have 14K gold Matt helmet charm, the #17 charm, a sterling silver dogtag charm, which came with a chain, so that was a lot of money. Oh, then I just HAD to replace the cheapo Matt Kenseth watch I accidentally smashed on my tile floor for the best one they sell. I wonder, maybe I should add up what I have spent on Matty things together and send Matt the bill. Here, sweetie, I have spent a thousand bucks showing off how much i love you, so either fork over the dough or fork over a few tickets with yourself attached....

I get carried away, sorry.

Great picture! I have one that I posted here a couple of times (can't do it right now, working) where I am standing right in front of the DeWalt display and half of a duplicate #17 car is behind me. I am waving like crazy and unbeknownst to me, some dude wearing all DeWalt was waving at the camera behind me!!! Wonderful!

I didn't know a sway bar from a track bar from a crow bar!! Because of Michael's program, Michael Waltrip-A New Era, and fans on the topix boards, I have learned so much!
Remember, when Jeffie tapped Matt in Chicagoland about 2 years ago and he took the win from Matt? This was the first time I had ever seen fans throw garbage at any driver! I couldn't believe it! I knew nothing about Matt and totally expected some bad remarks from him or whatever. He let the fans take care of it. Matt remained calm and you know, he was Matt.
I picked him to be my driver because he was different. Would you believe I thought he was an aggressive driver? Just the opposite of what he is accused of being!
Then, I found out he was from a town in Wisconsin right down the street from where I was born and raised. What a trip.
I thought I would kind of get over liking him as I got smarter and more aware of the other talented drivers. No. I have gotten worse. The more Nascar I watch, the more I listen, the more I pay attention, the crazier I am about this driver!
I think I actually fell in love with car before I liked Matt! That DeWalt gold and black looked like a fist coming at you and I think I just thought, this guy has convinced me that this is an interesting thing to get into and I blame Matty for me being so gung-ho now!
Nice to meet you!

Man I caused quite a stink didn't I? I have 3 Mexican relatives who married my 1st cousins. And I love the hell out of them. They LEARNED english before they came here. That was 40 yrs ago. If they can do it then, then JPM can do it now. Has anyone heard his commercials? I'm friends with a family from Iran. They are great people. They also learned english before they came here. I have no problem with foreigners in my country as long as they speak ENGLISH. This is our language. If anyone cannot speak a language that everyone can understand then they need to go back where they came from and learn it first then come back. When I traveled overseas I saw the look of disgust on peoples faces when I tried to talk their language, so I gave up and let someone else speak for me. The same goes for me here.

If you all think I'm a racist, so be it. I don't think I am. I'm just tired of people coming here not speaking the language and acting like they own the place. If I happen to be in a store or a place to eat and someone starts talking in their native tongue I'll be the first one to bring to their attention that they are in American and speak English, so they need to speak english or be quiet. If everyone one of you have not thought the same way at one time or another, you are fooling yourselves. Knowing two or three words just don't get it!

You aren't really racist (unless you have other problems with people of different races), just pretty rude and not very nice. There is no official language in the US. It is true that the majority speak English, but so far there has been no law passed that requires it to be spoken. I know of many people who were born and raised in the US that don't speak the language very well, where do you plan to send them? What about those people speaking the languages of the real natives to this country? That would be those speaking Cherokee or some other Native American language.

You don't have to learn someone else's language if you don't want, but don't fault others simply because they wanted to come here and forgot to ask your permision. If you can't accept that we live in a country that gives everyone the freedom to speak whatever language they like then maybe you should think about moving somewhere else. There's no place for intolerance in the US.
