LOL....Driving skill, a top notch ride and team and consistancy. Thats what has put Jr second in points, only 8 points benind Biffle with one race left before the chase begins. To all his nay sayers out there..........nanny nanny boo boo!!!!!!! You can cry and make every lame excuse you want but Jr and the 88 team are there. There was no imaginary help from NASCAR, no special fixing of any race just good consistant racing!!!! Funny how the nay sayers, all but a few have stopped the childish rants of yesterday and have had to take notice of Mr Dale Jr. There are a few, and they will reply with the redundancy that they hold to, that still make up any falsehood they can {with no proof or merit to back it up} to discredit Mr Dale Earnhardt Jr. Fact is, hes a contender for the championship and you huckleberries will just have to like it!!!!!

How do you figure it "don't mean nothin'? He's in the Show and 2nd in points, which proves consistency.

Ask Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman, etc., if it don't mean nothin'.

It would mean something under the old format. Carl Edwards would have a championship or two under the old format (BTW I'm talking about the pre-chase format). Gordon has yet to win a championship under the chase format. Kurt Busch won the first chase format championship after starting 7th. Jimmie Johnson started a few of his championship runs low and came out when it counted.

Richard Petty will ALWAYS be the king because the chase format doesn't show your overall seasonal consistancy like the old school way did. Nascar couldnt' accept the fact that Matt Kenseth won the championship with only 1 victory but had the highest average finish all year in I believe 2003. I remember another year Kyle Busch was running away with the point lead but slumped big time in the chase.

Look it up.. Kyle chocked so bad in 2008 though he was so high in the points even under the old system he wouldn't have won the championship.

You can't go by the old system anymore as teams who are locked in early use regular races as testing instead of racing for points. Do you honestly think Jimmie's engine blew up for no reason? They were testing to see how much they can get out of it. They went just a bit too far.

How do you like the system now? A driver 8th in points going in gets to leapfrog into the lead.

Yeah, it aint the best is it. I wonder, what would be a satisfactory chase format that would be fair to all involved. Lots of scenerio's could be used but somebody s gonna complain about any of them. If I was the kind of person who cliams that the chase is fixed for a certain driver, seems like it would be fixed to Hamlins favor this time, he must be NASCARs real poster boy. LOL, good point though X Jr Fan, 8th to first aint to cool, whether its Hamlin or anybody, just dont seem right does it?
