Nascar cut practice sessions to 4 for the season yet a bunch of cup drivers run the nationwide race at the same track the day before.Seems to me that makes the playing field uneven. They get to run a whole race on the same track they will use the next day.So they get the same amount of practice for testing plus running a race at the very track they run in Sunday. Not to mention 7 or 8 races out of 10 a cup driver wins the nationwide race. It should be either run nationwide series OR Sprintcup not both.Maybe when the N.W. isnt run on the same track it would be alright otherwise 1 or the other. Its not fair to nationwide drivers or the sprintcup drivers. Anyone agree or disagree ?

I agree in a way, but At the same time it's the big name drivers that bring in the money. Drivers like Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick bring attendance to these nationwide races. They do haven advantage, but any of the cup drivers can run nationwide if they wanted. These drivers bring in sponsorships that generally wouldn't do business in Nationwide if it weren't for the big name driver driving their car. So, I believe they do bring in revenue for the series.

Racingfan20, I understand that but the whole reason that nascar cut back the number of practices cup drivers could have was to make it fair for the smaller teams. This justs seems like a loophole to get around the new rule.

Again cup driver wins nationwide race. How many races have the nationwide drivers actually won this year.If the cup drivers werent in these races the nationwide driver would have WINS and top 10s that would improve their getting sponsership instead of being 8th and beating all the other nationwide drivers they would have WINS instead of top 10s. This should be looked at. If a cup driver wants to run in a nationwide race that should count against their 4 practice sessions all the rest of the cup drivers get. Sound fair to anyone besides me. Its like Babe Ruth staying in the minors so he could hit 1000 home runs instead of 714.It just dont seem fair.

Goob, I agree with you 100%. Your Babe Ruth analogy is similar to one I've used and I hadn't thought about the practice lap angle.

Surprise surprise, top 5 in nationwide qualifing are cup drivers. Hornish isnt cup this year but Kenseth took his cup ride. 6 of first 8 are cup drivers. This is just plain B.S. Nationwide Series might get more backing if they could back Nationwide drivers that could WIN races instead of finishing 7th or 8th but beating the rest of the nationwide drivers.Again the cup drivers get to PRACTICE at the track they run tomorrow. You only get to practice at 4 tracks all year cup drivers. Except these guys that run nationwide races. ITS NOT RIGHT.

Well it was only the top 4 today were cup drivers.Sadler was 5th which against nationwide drivers is a win. Not to mention 5th place money instead of 1st place money.Plus they got in 82 practice laps for tomorrow. For those who say any cup driver can run nationwide anyone in major league baseball can play in the minors if they want. Thats the point in nationwide to get good enough to run in the cup series.
