Don't you hate it when that happens?

I don't understand... Jeff Gordon in 2007 fall race, Carl Edwards in 2009 spring race and Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle in the 2008 fall race these are all drivers who waited back until the closing laps at Talladega races. I mean let's be realistic, I'm not a Jimmie Johnson fan by any means in fact I wouldn't rank him on my top ten, but there doing everything legal there is no rule that says you can't wait at the back, and he came away sixth, sounds pretty smart to me. I mean even if you don't like him, which you have all right to do, this is a guy with a foundation for children and families in need and he's very respected throughout the garage. He's not some terrible person, so don't you think insulting him at cussing at him is a little much.

1 I think when they did the first run at Tally with the COT, the 24 and 48 hung back and then pulled off the 1-2, Gordon over Johnson. http://www.youtube.com/watch... I loved that race... |

1 I thought your post was well said. I think it applies not only in Jimmie's situation, but many others also. There are guys out there who I don't care for as far as what they do on the track, but I have a lot of respect for what some of those guys do away from the track. I can appreciate anyone who gets some fame and uses it for some selfless purposes. For example: I'm not a Tony Stewart fan, but I appreciate his humbleness when it comes to his community service work and the way he promotes the sport of racing. He's keeps a lot of his charitable deeds personal, instead of flaunting them like a personal advertisement and that is very appealing to me. He uses his name and face when it will bring about funding and volunteering, but he doesn't go around making a big deal about it. There are many examples like Tony, so I don't want to make him look more saintly than others, but I thought he was a good one to point out. All that being said though, I'm sure there are also guys who are completely undeserving of much respect. We're talking about a lot of people involved in Nascar, so you get the good with the bad. I try not to bad mouth the drivers, owner's or crew members to much, unless I feel like they've given me a legitimate reason for that opinion. I'm not saying I'm perfect and haven't said some negative things about guys who really didn't deserve it, but it's more rare thing than the norm. some people don't see it that way and I guess that's fine. I'm not really trying to convince anyone to stop, because that's how some people want to be. I just wanted to reply and lend my agreement with it. It's nice to hear someone speak some sense every now and than. Maybe it'll make me think before I say something stupid next time and I'll refrain where I might not have otherwise. |

1 Jimmie earns respect from people who are respectable by being respectful. Jimmie braggers need to understand its pretty disrespectful to use his accomplishments to stir up conflicts and crap like that. That behavior is more suited for Kyle and Dale fans. Oh wait. Those guys should probably make the chase before you brag about them. LMAO! HA!! Congrats to Jimmie on accomplishing 9/10ths of a chase in the usual take no prisoners fashion. Here's hoping for 4, and that NASCAR changes the track line up so somebody else can be a star for a change. LOL They need a rule change that a crew chief can only win 3 championships for a team before he has to move on, HAHA! |
