Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone faced criticism from politicians and Jewish groups Saturday after being quoted as saying that Adolf Hitler "got things done." He was quoted as saying that democracy "hasn't done a lot of good for many countries - including this one." "In a lot of ways, terrible to say this I suppose, but apart from the fact that ...

Instead of Dale Jr, who doesn't seem to have inherited very much of his dad's 'right stuff', Tony Stewart is the new 'intimidator'. Great driving skills, a lot of smarts and courage.

Ok, I've already read the comments, seen the reaction on TV. My question is: Are all NASCAR fans hypocrites? The senerio of Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart racing to the finish, both will cars capable of winning the race, and a majority of you say that Kyle was at fault for the wreck. Maybe you should not shoot your mouths of so fast, even Tony was man enough to say that Kyle was doing what he should be doing by protecting his position. With that said, maybe your response should be " That's racin' baby!". That's the chance drivers take on the track. Is Kyle mad, oh I'm sure he is, he probably called Tony every name under the sun. The crowd cheered when they saw Kyle spin, with no concern for his saftey as the drivers side of his car slammed the wall at 190mph only to be hit again from behind. But you boo Kyle and cheer Tony for what you call an "awesome move"! Ok, lets say it was an awesome move, but (there's always a but), lets replace that 18 car with another car, say the 20 car or the 99 or the 5 of Martin. Whould you still feel the same? Maybe, but would you have still cheered as you watched the car slam the inside wall on the drivers side? Or would you have shown some concern for the saftey of the driver? And of course I must throw this in... What if Tony spun the 88 car? I bet Tony would be receiving death threats right now.
Some of you are true NASCAR fans, and I must say its a privilege to sit next to you at a race. I can root on my driver and you root on yours, and we laugh at the bizzare stuff that happens on the track. The rest of you need to realize this is racing, these drivers are professionals, but are only human and mistakes will happen. Each driver has their own driving style, some aggressive while others are more laid back. This is what makes racing fun to watch. To be honest, from my point of view, with the rules that NASCAR has put into place these last few years, if it wasn't for drivers like Tony Stewart or Kyle Busch, NASCAR would be boring.(Keep in mind this post is not to discredit any driver, only you: The Fan!)

They were both wanting to win the race. It was the last lap and the flag was in the air. Tony tried to move Kyle(and the other would have done the same for the win) and Tony held his line. Its happened on other races and it will happen again. Im not saying one was right but who is to say the other would not have done the same thing or any other racer out there wanting to win.

I would say yes for a lot of fans.. I have no dog in this fight.. I am a tony fan and a kyle fan heck I like robbie gordon too..lol

I feel the wreck was just a racin incedent.. Tony backs out and he causes a wreck with jimmy and CO. Kyle gives ground and tony wins clean kyle comes in second.. Second place is just first loser... Your not going to get any of the cream of the crop to back down thats why they are the best...

It looked like an old time Sr, finish to me...

My friend, it would be time for you to buy an english dictionary or check into rehab.

Kyle was racing hard, so was Tony. This was simply a consequence of restrictor plate racing just as it is every time the run at Daytona or Talladega. The only thing that made this wreck stand out was that it happened to the leaders when they were racing for the win.

Here's the deal. I was never a big fan of Carl Edwards, but he was man enough to tell it like it is at Talledega. Kyle, on the other hand, wants to blame everyone but himself. The fact is, with the current restrictor plate rules that we have at Daytona and Talledega, the fault of these crashes falls squarely on the shoulders of NASCAR, not the drivers! Maybe someday Kylie will grow up and realize that! Until then, he's just a TOOL!

Well, I believe it was 'Just Racin' But then again I'm sure I'll be told that I only see it that way cause I'm a Stewart fan. I don't care. That's what it was.

First anyone that follows NASCAR knows how Kyle drives and just how Kyle speaks. You know he can be a very sore loser. So I'm not surprised by his reaction after the race. That's who he is.

I can NOT stand Kyle AT ALL! I'd rather poke myself with a fork in the eye then ever listen to him getinterviewed, BUT last night watching that crash scared the heck out of me. To see him hit that wall going 190 and then for Kasey to get up under him like that AND like that wasn't enough for poor Joey to take Kyle AGAIN in the drivers side. That was horrible and as much as i dislike that puke I would never wish that on him!

I would of been much happier to see Tony just nudge him out of the way and them both get to race to the line for an amazing finish, but it didn't happen and now... here we all are fighting over who was right and who was wrong.. when it comes down too it, Every driver out there knows very well that can happen at anytime and 'It's just Racin'

ANd before someone comes at me and says 'You wouldn't be so easy going about it if Kyle had done that to Tony' Well yes I would be. Sure I'd be upset that Tony lost the race, but again That's racin' boys, either grow some freakin' balls or get the hell of the track!

Ok, Next on the soap box... LOL

Those 3 drivers would suck it up and walk away like a man. They relize when they are in the wrong and more importantly have more sense than to do what Kyle did....which was block with out knowing where Tony was.

I actually held my cheering for when he got out of his car and started his crybaby fit....that he DOES EVERY RACE when he loses.

Go figure...bring in the 88..but your right some would overreact...but some of use would relize after seeing the replay...it was racing and there was no where for Tony to go.

What is with all this Junior bashing, now? He said he had just gotten the car where he wanted to, when Stremme forgot how to drive and basically wrecked the whole field.

Jr ALWAYS gets brought in, they can help themselves. As for Stremme....you cant forget how to drive if you didnt know how too in the first place. At least 1/2 of the cautions in any race anymore you can count on Stremme being the reason.

What a way to end a race. That was awesome. Now that Smoke has overtaken Junior in merchandise sales, it's time to vote to officially make Smoke the Most Popular Driver in 2009:

Your right, JR is always brought in, but NASCAR fans can't help themselves. The JR Nation has opened themselves up to the criticism they receive because they, the JR Nation, have painted him to be this superior driver. Is JR a good driver, sure he is, if he wasn't he wouldn't be racing with the best 42 drivers in NASCAR everyweek. Is he as good as you, the JR Nation paint him to be, No! You make excuses for him, when reality points to the other problems. All-in-all, you fail to realize that he is just the average Joe on the track, as with all the other 42 drivers on the track! No one has ruined Dale Jr's reputation more than his fans, you all fail to face reality, he is only human! You, the fan, have built up a product that cannot preform to the standards you have set, that is not JR's fault, the compition is just to real. You, the fan (see a trend), have put him in his position, be careful of what you wish for!
(Oh can you imagine the response to this!!))
