we have to drive in the rain, why cant the best drivers in the world suk it up and use those well honed skills to finish race?

I agree creekmonkee, f1 races in rain, IRL races in wet conditions, why can't NASCAR. As soon as a drop of rain hits the windshield bam the caution comes out.

Cup cars are on slicks, full windshields & no wipers.

You are correct, NASCAR raced in Japan as an exhibition race (in the rain) in the latter 90's.
Why here it's dry pavement and slicks only, who knows.
Racing in the rain is a can do, but it may just be against tradition..
