Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler and Reed Sorenson with Petty, GEM team

Kasey Kahne , Elliott Sadler and Reed Sorenson will drive for the new team that would be created by the planned merger of Gillett Evernham Motorsports and Petty Enterprises.

its to bad that kasey has to drive with lesser talented drivers. I hope he does better this year as it could be his last if he ever wants a championship with equipment that's equal to him.

Kasey had just as bad of season. It isn't the equipment it is how he drives. I'm going to say he wasn't focused as he could have been.

I completely disagree. When Kasey had the equipment in '06 he won more races than anybody else. He won 2 races in 08 with sucky equipment, so he obviously has the talent and it is certainly not how he drives. Judging from the things written on KaseyKahne.com , interviews, and the GEM website, Kasey was extremely focused. Much more than Elliott.

its been the equipment, most all the dodges had troubles all season long. kasey had focus, just not great cars. elliott had family (moms health and dads health issues along with other things), besides not so great cars too!
lets hope 09 can be better for the gem guys....

Dodge cars do not perform at the level of the other manufactures. They have been tested in Dyno and in other things and Dodge is usually off compared to the others, its not Kasey or any of the other drivers. its Dodge. I mean as much as I can't stand him, look at Kurt Busch. He won the championship, came to Dodge and where is he now? he finished like 20th in the standings

When you have no guidance within a team this is what happens. Listening to the scanner before and after pits they were clearly confused about adjustments. Kahne would ask Francis to check with Sadler's team, which he already had but both teams were running poorly. There was also no teamwork within these two teams, until AJ appeared and ran in the #10 car. Nothing against Sadler but when you are running plate races you have to have help & Kahne would help Sadler but if the roles got reversed Sadler would dump him to run with his old buddies every chance he got. The last 5 races AJ proved to be a better team mate than Sadler and worked well with Kahne. Kahne also help AJ while Sadler passed them by even though he was down by several laps and had nothing to gain. AJ was on the lead lap & Kahne stayed behind him to help him. That is what makes a team successful, hopefully in 09 Kahne, Reed & AJ can make it work.

okay now im not gonna even defend her or start to cause ultimalty(sp?) she will ruin him.....

but if he does have an old crew chief back or at least someone he trusts and likes...im sure the team will follow also(although i know weve all been saying why be in a car that the owner supposedly didnt want you in)...but just maybe there will be that glimmer of hope now that he knows what its like to be dumped by some bigwigs for some dork who really cant drive...and he will get in that car and drive his hot ass off and prove that he can do it and he still has it in him...then after next season tell GEM to go screw themselves and go with someone different after he proves himself...

i know im probably talking out of my butt,,,but we gotta pull for him and im hoping this second chance will open his eyes WIDE and do what hes gotta do....oh yeah and forget COMPLETLEY about her would be nice to!!!!!LOL

No driver at GEM is getting better equipment than the other drivers because there IS no better equipment at GEM. It's all bad.

They need the equivalent of a Mark Martin or Jeff Burton to keep them straight and remind them what teamwork is. I love Elliott, but he is no leader.
