We've had it wrong all along. You did, I did and even one of NASCAR's most astute talent evaluators - ultra-successful team owner Rick Hendrick - did.

Well, I've read through all of this and this is my final comment/thoughts:

KB fans do him a disservice by encouraging that punkass behavior. If he is in fact a "nice" person, then he should tone it down. He's not proving anything except that he's obsessed with Junior and that's just dumb. He needs to realize that people don't like a cocky punk, no matter how many races he wins and the people who DO like him, I believe like him for all the wrong reasons. They like that stupid juvenile act and think for some reason it makes them cool to root for a punk. Not good, IMO.

I think RH is perfectly happy with Junior over Kyle. Junior has performed and he's a good guy. What's not to like?

As for the comparisons, I'm not a Senior fan, never was. I really don't care one way or another about him. The comparisons of Kyle to Dale Sr. are made with the intent that it's a slap at Junior...saying that Kyle is the real "heir." That's ridiculous. You could see the change in Dale Sr. when he started to race with his son. He loved every minute of it, he loved and respected his son and if he were here, he'd laugh that anyone was saying that KB was any sort of "heir" to him or his legacy. His own son doesn't think anyone will replace his dad. To say KB will is just a stretch. If KB is that good, and if his career has "legs" then let's talk about his legacy in his own terms, not anyone else's and certainly not just to take a slap at Junior.

I think the reason Kyle gets compared to Dale Sr is that everyone always compares the latest to the greatest. Its only natural that since Kyly has managed to win a third of the races this year that he'll be compared to Dale. I don't see the itimidator part of Kyly though. I don't think anyone on the track is intimidated in the least by him. Its a little difficult to be intimidated when the M&M guy's coming at you on the track.

He does show a lot of talent on the track, but he also isn't able to look people in the face after a loss and answer questions. He tends to run away when things don't go his way. Until he learns to be a man, even in defeat he won't be that intimidating. If you watch drivers like Gordon or Edwards after they lose a race, you see that they know how to lose and not pout about it. I was a little impressed with his interview after the Nationwide race this week, that was one of the first times I've seen him actually being an adult after a loss.

I agree Joe. How many times have you seen Kyle get out of his car and throw his helmet after a race he didn't win?

Compare Kyles after race classlessness to folks like Jamie McMurray and Carl Edwards, these are guys with a smile on their face after the race is over no matter how good or bad they do. Hell, Jamie McM is just happy to race every weekend.

If you wanna talk about someone who can control his anger and vents it in a classy way, look at Robby Gordon. He picks and chooses his battles carefully and usually comes out on top.

I was there on saturday night, everyone boo'ed Kyle after being selected as the winner.

Ok before the Kyle babies attack.....I'm not a JR fan...I have alot of respect for him but I don't root for him at the track.

Can Kyle drive a car?? Sure he can, so can 42 others drivers on that track or they wouldn't be there.

There will never ever be another Dale Sr. He wouldn't mind what Kyle does on the track but off the track????
I can see him now grabbing him by one of those big ol ears and taking him out back for a "talk"

Kyle is a disrespectful punk that will never be man enough to shine any of the older driver's shoes.

Joe, where did you get that all the cars are within a couple of horsepower? I haven't seen that number before. Rick Hendrick mentioned friday night that they needed the 15 to 20 horsepower of the R07 engine to compete with Toyotas. Are you blind? Even the announcers said Friday Night that Hamlin was two seconds behind and without any drafting help he caught the lead cars and passed them and won the race. I don't need anybody to tell me that's not horsepower. In car graphics show JR. holding it wide open all around the track but not being able to pass cars. Again, horsepower. Nascar can say all they want to about horsepower but until I'm in the dyno room with them and I see the results myself I won't believe it. That 94 million toyota paid Nascar could make it very easy to fib just a little. In fact, it was reported on Jayskis last year after Atlanta the horsepower ratings. Guess who had the most horsepower? Yep, Toyota followed by Ford and Dodge as best as I can remember. Jimmie Johnson's had the least horsepower of any car they tested and he won the race. Do some research and check it out. And remember, this is Toyotas first year in cup racing and they have the most horsepower. Imagine what it will be when they are in a few more years.

It's Toyota's second year
Nascar always finds a way to even things up, Thunderbirds had an aero advantage, nascar gave the Monte's a greenhouse. Grand Prixs had better aero, taraus'got a new nose. Roush had HP and Mileage, Chevy got new heads and on and on
Right now Toyota may have a HP advantage but that is only half the equation, The other is that they have the best driver right now and he's on a mission

Mike,
You are so far out of touch with Nascar, I can't beleive you would actually compare a snot nosed whinning punk to the late great Dale Earnhardt. One thing the intimidator never did was whine, that just shows me you don't have a clue about Nascar or it's history. You should stick to what you know which apparently, is not Nascar. Kyle Busch was released by Hendrick for neglect of his responsibilities and duties as a driver. Under no circumstances do you walk away from your ride during a race, that is something Dale Sr. never did. Next time you need to do a little more homework on your Nascar history before you go preaching the facts.

Really? HMMM...Try doing it with 800lbs of g-force hitting you every 10-15 second for 4 hours. If you think NASCAR is scripted, you better look at the NFL last season with the Patriots wonderful run. Not saying it was but last season looked WAY MORE scripted for ratings than any NASCAR race.
