It just wasn't meant for Jeff to be in this years chase, his stars wasn't aligned and the racing god wasn't appeased. Had he not come to the pits with the other leaders when Bowyer cut his doughnut, he may have had enough to finish further up at the end and hold off Logano but that is just conjecture. Done is done. He let a lot of great opportunities slip away this season. I think NASCAR has done as much as they could to rectify the situation. Getting caught in a big cheat put POS in a position where he lost primary ownership of the team when he first started it. This certainly will not enhance the teams attraction to potential sponsors at a time when cooperate money is so hard to find.

NASCAR is a laugh. How many times have you seen NASCAR use the yellow flag, to determine the position of the field and the outcome of a race.

How many time have you seen the yellow flag waved with less than ten laps remaining in the race. This is used for a two lap shoot out.

How many time has it been used to keep Jr. from going a lap down.

Who recalls Kyle Bush penatly when he pushed Hornaday into the wall under a caution. Than recall Gordon penalty when he shoved someone(can't recall driver) into the wall under green.

As long as Helton and Robin Pemberton has anything to do with NASCAR I am finished as a fan. I will never ever go to a race or watch NASCAR racing on TV.

Jeff isn't in the chase. But yeah, 50 points will hurt bowyers chances. That's more than an entire race back in regards to points.
Doesn't hurt Clint one little bit. They took the 50 points off before they converted the points over to chase points so Clint is still starting the chase with 2000.

Kyle was already on probation when he dumpped Hornady. NASCAR had to react.

I agree NASCAR did just about everything they could do to fix this mess. However I disagree about Jeff not holding off Joey. Jeff was out by two points. Two points that he had before Clint's little trick. Those two points were Clint and Vickers finishing behind Joey on purpose to ensure Joey didn't slip to 11th and taking Truex's wildcard slot. NASCAR can't fix that... they can't penalize Joey for something he had no part of. I'm sure Jeff understands this.. and if I were Clint I'd keep my distance from Jeff these next 10 races.

I have to give the announcers credit for speaking out post race. If it had been DW and his crew they would have been as silent on the subject as Michael was at the truck race Sunday and it takes a lot for the Waltrips to keep their mouths shut.

They weren't when it first happened. Petre blamed it on Jr. Said Jr ran into the back of Bowyer. I was like WTF?!?!?! Jr was no where near his bumper. After they listen to the in car radio they realized something fishy was going on. I was a fool...(guess too trustworthy) I really thought Clint just lost it, never even gave it a thought that he was Truex's team mate... until I heard the radio playback.. and realized what Vickers did.

As much as I would like that NASCAR can pentalize Joey. He did nothing wrong. I think Jeff would even agree with that
Vickers didn't do anything wrong either. I will agree with you about Jeff.

Why should Jeff be in? He failed to race his way in. Fair and square.
because he is Jeff and a better driver than bowyer.

Yes, it doesn't hurt Clint a bit,:(. But I have to give NASCAR thumbs up for doing something! This is the BIGGEST penalty in history!!! Does Michael get to go in the Hall of Fame for that??? He is a disgrace and so is his whole team!!!

Jr is one of the cleanest drivers not to wreck anyone, the last couple of years. If Dale Sr was still alive this poop wouldn't be going on.

Yeah, he's a clean driver but lack of aggression over the years has hurt him. He's not contending for wins much anymore.

What's the point of taking the points away before? So,it really doesn't impact him at all!

That, and he isn't the most talented as he's never won a title.. But this isn't the jr bashing forum.

Because if they didn't take them away before the reset then Truex would still be in and Ryan out. It's the only way the could partially fix this mess.
