Hamlin/Keselowski vs. Leffler/Wallace; Can ANYONE answer Markie's question...

My buddy Markie was furious at NASCAR's decision to penalize Denny Hamlin during the Nationwide race on Saturday. She wasn't furious that Hamlin was penalized though. She was furious that Hamlin wasn't penalized more. She asked me her inquiry... & I don't have an answer for her. This is what she said:

"Mary, that's not fair! My Jason Leffler got screwed at Daytona when Steven Wallace took himself out by hitting my Leffler & my Leffler gets a (Expletive) 5 lap penalty for it, for something that idiot Steven did. Hamlin PURPOSELY takes out Brad Keselowski & Denny gets a dinky 1 lap penalty for it. Why did NASCAR do that? Why wasn't Hamlin penalized 5 or more laps, or even parked!? Why does NASCAR discriminate agaisnt my Leffler!?"

It got worse during the Tony Stewart/Juan Pablo Montoya scenario in the cup finale. Markie went nuts when Tony blocked Juan then took him out & got no penalty, then Juan took out Tony & got a "dinky" 2 lap penalty, saying neither was fair (Personally I do agree that Stewart should have been penalized too). Her mood got worse when Denny Hamlin won the race... Of course what do you expect from a Jason Leffler fan who is also basically the world's biggest Denny Hamlin hater (Since 2005)!?...

Does anybody have an answer to Markie's question!? I don't...

Take the meanies right to drive away. You don't retaliate and bump a 3500 lb car. That's dangerous.

Easy enough to answer. NASCAR has it's favorite or special drivers. These guys do not get penalized as much or as often as the others.

Tell Markie to have Leffler do something with that stupid hair...He looked cute with a cap on but I cannot stand to look at the hair standing roached up stiff as a board.....

The interpretation of what happened could be biased. I'd have to see the footage first. Roll tape!

Yeah, only the more they choose NOT to get involved, the more drivers will try to push the boundaries of what they will allow. Eventually it would end up being demolition derby slam-fests. Rubbin is racing, and rubbing enough to loosen somebody up is just getting rough, but purposely wrecking or spinning someone - that's where NASCAR needs to make a judgement call. Doesn't always have to result in a penalty but it sometimes needs to so they're not out there thinking they can get away with anything.

Yes i agree it would turn ugly, but some times nascar over does it and got all the driver's scared to race hard. And Denny did deserve to be penalized because he opened his mouth.

I agree that Hamlin's penalty should have been much stiffer, at the very least a couple laps more. I think we all know that Nascar views the Nationwide series as it's bastard child, so the fact that they even gave him a penalty at all is amazing.

That's how you do it, give a little freedom, then take it away! lol
Remember Kurt busch on pit road almost running over people on Stewarts pit crew? They weren't racing, but he was still in a car and dangerous to others, especially trying to bring the fight onto pit road. So NASCAR has to remind them to keep those tempers in check, and usually its by making an example of somebody.
