Did not read this article but I'm guessing this must not be a 2 cycle internal combustion engine here.

Zero-Carbon emissions has a feel good sound to it, but it's total BS. Infineon Raceway is going to host an electric powered motorcycle race.

Zero Carbon, you say? Maybe while being operated, but you carbon bet your bootie that it took many carbon(s) to build it and many carbons in the process and equipment to charge it.

What do you get when you cross mindless PC with insane PR? This race. Motorcycles [with 4 cycle engines] hardly have any emissions anyway, compared to cars, so making them electric is nothing but stupidity. On the other hand, where motorcycles do have a problem is in killing their drivers at a rate 5 times that for cars. Where the electricity needs to be used is in shocking the bikers into reality.

How about eliminating the carbon from the riders. Yeah, zero-carbon motorcyclists. Maybe they can be genetically engineered to be made from silicon instead of carbon.

You already have a vinyl blowup girl friend, now you want silicon motorcyclists. You've been hanging out with Cindy Sheehan again?

There is no such thing as Zero Carbon Motor's. The batteries used in these machines are made of Rare Earth Metals. Their carbon impact includes the mining in China, transportation to Refinery, transportation to Japan for making the batteries, & transportation by Diesal powered ship to USA. They are zero carbon output, but not zero carbon footprint.

Correct you are. It makes more polution to make 1 battery than a life time of gas to run a real motorcycle. That does not count all the recharges. And Oh... What about when it's time to throw it out... HazMat!
