So, a camera cable crashes and injures fans and NASCAR suspends use of them. They didn't suspend use of race cars when those crashed and injured fans.

NASCAR fans like when things crash. They don't mind that crashes, whether it's cars or aerial cameras, can hurt or kill people. I remember watching a video that someone shot on their phone from the grandstands during a crash and the crowd cheering with delight even as spectators some rows down from them were getting pummeled with debris and injured. Imagine that you're one of the fans being beaten with flying debris and the crowd around you cheering at your misfortune.

I always wished I could be there at the scene of road accidents involving NASCAR fans so that I could stand next to them and their crashed cars and cheer with excitement.

"But crashes are part of racing! Every driver lives with that!" Yeah, but crashes are a part of daily driving, too, and we all drive knowing that the next time we go out we can be involved in one. Crashes aren't supposed to happen when we're driving to the store, but they aren't supposed to happen on the track, either. Crashes are when things go wrong, not go right, unless you're at a demolition derby.
