Is NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer's reputation permanently ruined?: After ...

Sep 14, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: AutoWeek

During the 1919 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds, the sports world was rocked when eight White Sox players were discovered to have intentionally contributed to the White Sox's eventual loss to the Reds in order to receive money from gamblers.

Not ruined, but hurt. I always thought of him as a class act, but he showed he's not even close.

Why, he did what he was told to do.
Can't imagine a driver telling owner he isn't going to do what he tells him.

I can't figure out why people are mad at Clint bowyer. NASCAR said they couldn't prove that he spun out his car. So.. If they can't prove it........why even give out penalties and fines.why make a 13th spot for Gordon and put Newman back in the chase?come on .... If the proof is not there, then leave it alone.and nobody can tell me that other teams haven't done the same thing.that's what's wrong with NASCAR. They keep on taking up for some teams and hurting other ones. All I want to see is racing, with guys who don't complain about every little thing.these whiners need to stay home and cry to whoever will listen to them.keep away from the racing if you can't handle it.let's see there are 5 cars from hendrick's now in the chase, right?i thought they were suppose to be only 2 or 3 cars on a team? I know, everybody will say there's only 3 cars on Hendrick's team. But, if you own half of another team, then you have more cars then you are suppose to.right there is one big mistake NASCAR has.there should only be so many numbers of cars racing with an owner.no owning half of this team and half on another.
This whole mess could have been a lot fairer if NASCAR would only treat every team fair.but, they can't seem to do that.
So,what I want to know is NASCAR fixed?
I think they are.what about you?
Truix got treated the worst in this case.he's raced hard all year to get a spot and when he did get in the chase....he had it taken away, because Gordon cried and whined like a little baby, until he got what he wanted.newman, too.
Gordon and Newman don't deserve to be in the chase. They never raced to be there.
They just got handed their spot in it. What a way to win!!!

I didnt hear Newman or Gordon say a damn thing . They didnt even know about it til yesterday. As far as proving the spin 1st off why did Bowyer lie about Jr. spinning him out. 2nd did you listen to the radio transmissions? Bowyer didnt get KICKED OUT of the chase because they say they cant prove he spun on purpose. It was the totality of the whole teams actions. What about bringing the 55 car to pit road to give Lagono a extra point after he got a lap back from Bowyers fake spin. You dont have to be a genius to figure it out.Hell even you should be able to figure that out Angie.

You're dumber than a brick. Neither Newman or Gordon asked to be put back in the chase. Neither would have had NASCAR not determined they lost their positions in the chase because of other teams cheating. Logano made the chase because the 38 car let him around when he wasn't even fast enough to pass that junker. NASCAR did the right thing with the exception of not throwing Bowyer out of the chase. Bowyer should be racing for 14th place.

In a court of law it states innocent until proven guilty. I guess in NASCAR that is not the case. Maybe next year they should call it the Hendrix Racing Series instead of Sprint Cup series. As far as Newman and Gordon not deserving to be in the chase.... remind me how many races did Jimmie Johnson win? I think that the champion should be determined by the number of races won and top 10 finishes. If this were the case how many championships would Johnson have?

A couple of observations here. First, NASCAR decisions aren't based of the rules in a court of law. They're based on what is good for business and fundementally fair to the competitors. Secondly, championships should be based on wins and top 10's. Guess what? That's exactly how Johnson won those championships, by winning and finishing high enough that he accumulated the most points. Jimmie didn't start the chase on top BECAUSE he hadn't won as many races as someone else. HELLO, is there anyone home?

obviously on this board when you can't make a point any other way you resort to name calling. Typical. Let's see... Johnson had 4 wins 10 top 5'S. Kyle Busch had 4 wins and 12 top 5's. Both had 16 top 10's. and both had x number of points for leading a lap and for leading the most laps etc...(Nascar had to change the rules a few years back when Johnson "burst" onto the scene so that he could "win" some championships). As far as the court of law remark, it was an expression made to make you think. Sorry, I didn't know that it would be so hard for you. And as far as rules being based on what's fair to the competitors ... now that's a joke, and what's good for business, we'll see. They may have gotten themselves into a situation where fans realize that it's all based on the wishes of the owners of the cars and the organization instead of what's fair. i.e it's more soap opera than reality.
