Malayasian PM urges Muslims not to insult other religions

Full story: Tajikistan News.Net

Tajikistan News.Net Saturday 5th September, 2009 Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak Saturday quoted from the Quran to urge fellow Muslims not to insult people of other faiths, after residents of a Muslim-majority area, protesting re-location of a Hindu temple to their locality, carried cow heads in a rally Friday.

Both my parents are Indian and Hindu; and I am an evolutionist.

In September 2009, some people in Malaysia paraded a cow's head. The media has the right to highlight it. What is news? When a dog bites a man, it is not news worthy. But when a man bites a dog, it is news worthy. The media makes news judgement. The media must be given freedom to decide what is news worthy or not. Please leave the media alone.

Some people decided to carry a cow's head. So what? They can carry a cow's head if they want. Nobody should be offended by it. The best thing to do is to play down on it and ignore it. The main thrust for Hindus should and must be in giving a good education to their children. The world will become more competitive. It is the duty of all Hindus in Malaysia to take care of their own families. Please do take care of your own family. If you can, please do work at two jobs so that you can get extra money.

Parading a severed cow's head should not perturb you. If it does perturb you, then you have only yourself to blame. Those people parading a cow's head look like comedians any way. Why are you perturbed by comedians? They say that laughter is the best medicine. It is good to have some comedy.

People do have the right to parade a cow's head, or for that matter, chicken wings, pig's ears, goat's feet, turtle shell, cat's tail, etc.

Incidentally, there are many Hindus in Malaysia who eat pork and beef. After you see a cow's head being paraded several times, then you would get used to it and it would no longer perturb you any more. The human mind has the capacity to de-sensitize. It may help to increase beef consumption. Wait a minute. Beef has high cholesterol but not as high as crustaceans.

Similarly, many Muslims consume pork too. Again, after eating pork for some time, you would get used to it. If you are non-Muslim, please do treat your Muslim friend to some pork food. Pork consumption may be irresistible to Muslims especially if non-Muslims pay for it.

Why are Muslims perturbed when a Hindu temple relocates to a Muslim majority area? Muslims do not have to enter the Hindu temple if they do not want to. There is no way the Hindu temple would perturb Muslims. I think the matter should be referred to the Judicial System. Muslims should stop over-reacting. The Muslims look like comedians when they overreact and carry a severed cow's head, parade it, and stomp it. What's the matter with the Muslims? I am a beef and pork eater and I would be glad to stomp a severed cow's head only if I am paid well enough.

A Hindu temple, Sri Maha Mariamman temple from Section 19 needs to be relocated to Section 23. But the Muslim residents of Section 23 object to the relocation plan. So some Muslims carried a severed cow's head and made a protest march. It is the right of people to carry a severed cow's head. But objecting to the relocation of a Hindu temple to Section 23 is unreasonable. The presence of a Hindu temple in a Muslim majority area will in no way interfere in the daily lives of Muslims. May cool heads prevail. I hope we can find a solution.

Please vote against UMNO in all future elections. It is time for Malaysian voters to come of age and vote UMNO out of power.

Level headed makes alot of sense in his argument.I totally agree with his views. There are better things for the average Malaysian to do than get involved in these issues of religion and even if need be,the clowns should not have done what they did and the other part should also not make it a bigger issue than it should be.Let the authorities sort it out and whatevet it is,commonsense should prevail for all.

I think Malaysian Indians will win the battle, because Native malaysians are lazy, and not creative. And now they are trying to find their identity by stealing Indonesian cultures and food to show thier greatness among malaysian Indians.oh ....poor native malaysians!!! having wanted to be number one class citizen by stealing......

Whilst Malaysia may not be "perfect"in the eyes of most and I do st times make my views pretty clear on some issues when writing a post here on Topix,in all fairness,I have to saythat you Indons are a bunch of hoodlums and mongrels(figure of speech)and display a very lack of sensibilities towards your neighbouring country wheremost of you seek employment and earnings which indirectly also helps to keep your families back home afloat.Your gratitude can be seen in the many murders and crimes and all manner of atrocities you commit in your host country. So whilst trying to run down Malaysia as you mongrels always do why don't you take a step back and see your true self in the mirror and just maybe you might realise that you are not as perfect as you thought you were.Arseholes..thats what you guys are.

And what about you guys ? Descendants of criminals who were kicked out from England. I'm sorry to say, but it's the fact according to your own history.

Are you kidding or just being stu...? The story took place in other country, not in Indonesia. Indonesia is the biggest Moslem country in the world but we acknowledge 5 religions. It's a multi ethnics countriy with hundreds of tribes. We respect each others.

Yeh Malingsia Tolol, you may be right to a point.Old England did send the convicts to Australia in the early days.We all know history well. That does not mean that we are all desendents of convicts.Australia is slowly but surely becomming a melting pot of different peoples from across the globe but with a culture of tolerance,of give and take amongst the various religions and races.Though you may on occassions hear some negative news comming across the screen, this in most cases is due to the fact that medis sometimes has a tendency to highlight something which should not be just for ratings sake.or even perhaps some nationalities from some corner of the globe, after being given the opportunity to live here gets disgruntled and make mountains out of molehills. In the bigger picture,we dont go around with machetes and axes in the present times on a killing spree like you hoodlums and mongrels have in the not distant past did in East Timor, killing of Christians in the Mollucas Islands, tormenting and burning chinese businesses in Jakarta and the list goes on.Thr TNI has their hand in all manner of corrupt practices and under hand works in many corners of the government administration.Indirectly what I am trying to say is that talk of imperfection,we all have them, the question is wheter we learn from the mistakes we have made and find solutions so as not to repeat them again. When Achen was in trouble after the tsunami,Australia was there, when you mongrels bobbed Bali and killed 88 Aussies and even your own fellas,we were there again helping your police force, need I say more. You have a very close neighbour in Malaysia wherby many Indonesians work in construction as well as other jobs to supplement the family income back home, but the crime rate from house breakins, murders, rape, extortio ns etc etc too numerous to be witten down.It seems to me and to most others that you Indonesians have a culture that is so despicable to say the least(whilst I applaud the ones that did make their mark in some fields of music and art).So as not to confuse you mongrel,"I" am one not from convict stock but thse things don't matter to me at all, whatever stock you come from but what and who you are that matters.Even reading most(yes!most")of the posts written by your people, seems to me that they can't even wrote a good post except one filled with vulgarity and spite. You might claim to be different..and you may be right, who knows!!!Look at the bigger picture and live outside the box.
