The word 'allah' is originaly a term used by pagan desert tribes long before the advent of Islam.

Christian tribes and sects are also known to utilise the word 'allah' as a refrence to 'god'.

Sadly, the moslem relegious authorities in Malaysia through obvious lack of knowledge and histroy, insecurity and perhaps, for the want of anything better to do with their empty lives are simply creating a furore to justify their existence.

And to all those moslems in Malaysia who wish to run 'amok' or turn 'gila' over the above remark, do try and take time out and carry out some research. It's not all that difficult or sophisticated if you have a reasonable standard of education and understanding.

The Indonesians have never had a problem with Christians using the word to represent 'god' simply because they are a smarter, wiser and a more tolerant people. And neither have they, a Nation of, if I am not mistaken, over 90+ moslems, have a problem with accecpting Christians as 'people of the book', and treating all faiths with respect.
