Mexican officials have before stated that Mexico does not have a drug problem. The U.S. has a drug problem and Mexico is the shortest distance between the drugs (Columbia, Cuba, etc.) and the American buyers. Mexican government does not have the manpower or resources to fight this battle. Also, illegal immigration is down because in case you haven't heard...our economy stinks right now.

This drug cartel violence is happening closer and closer to the areas of Mexico that have always been labeled as "Safe Zones" due to the tourism...now 14 murders and be-headings in Acapulco...scary time to be going to Mexico for vacation....very hard to parasail with no head!

Americans buy the drugs that the cartels traffic. Mexicans buy less than 5% of the drugs trafficed thru Mexico. These cartels exist because of American's demand for drugs. That is a fact and not rhetoric. Deal with it.

First of all I am as white as snow. These drug wars only exist because mostly WHITE Americans buy and use cocaine and heroin that comes from south and central America. If nobody was buying cocaine and heroin these cartels would disappear, quickly. It is called supply and demand and it is a TRILLION dollar industry. Has anyone spent anytime in your local college's dorm rooms, there is cocaine everywhere in college AND HIGH SCHOOL and it has been this way for about 30 years now in the U.S. That is the source of the problem. You can cut off the heads of these cartels and 10 more heads will spring up. The war on drugs is a fraud and any rational person knows this.
And in general, the crime rate is lower in Mexico than in the U.S. That is a fact.
Crime rate is lower in Mexico Uhh moron how about the homicide rate. I think Mexico has a higher rate. THAT IS A FACT.
