It is important to remember that much of the violence in Mexico is directly related to the drug trafficking cartels who are, for the most part, killing each other. Admittedly, a small percentage of those caught up in the violence are unfortunately true innocents happening to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but such is an estimated no more than 10% of the total. The violence, to date, is mostly limited to no more than 4 or 5 of the total 32 states of Mexico and the non drug related violence, per capita, remains far less than the violent crime rate per capita in the US. Let's keep these sensationalist media and "Chicken Little" US State Dept. warnings in proper perspective.
