So sad,my trip to Matamoras changed my life.It humbled me,when I returned to North Carolina I was more grateful.I saw children like this lil girl going hungry. I feed a Mother and 7 kids at 12:30 a.m with a 10 dollar bill. They were sitting on the sidewalk watching the man cook tacos on a grill. This City never sleeps. I returned to hear a boy complaining to his Mother about a electronic device he wanted,I was ashamed of his behavoir.Stay a week in Mexico you will learn what is truley valuable.

What is truly valuable is that this girl get an education. She has a gift. So she will not fall in the steps of the parents. It is the uneducated that bring in 11 kids that they cannot afford. How sad that they put their children through this. Best you have the ones you can take care of so you can give them the attention and care they deserve. Truly a tragedy. I hope this girl gets some help so that she can break this cycle. So she can quit eating out of the garbage. An Amazing story and a cute little girl.

There are children all over Mexico going hungry. I see young girls begging on the street corners that cannot be more then 15 years old. They have a baby slung over their back and another one in the oven. It has not changed my life as I know that is not a handout that they need, but rather an education. But I still help when I can, and shake my head how things like this are allowed to happen.
