You should be able to sue to get your money back. Last I checked, Las Olas uses a standard form contract that has not been registered with Mexico┬┤s Federal Consumer Affairs Office in Mexico, which makes these contracts unenforceable against the consumer. I just won a case where my clients obtained a judgment for $107,000 US Dollars plus interest. The contract was declared null and void. My e-mail is [email protected]

I bought 2 units, Does anyone have an address on Alex Crosthwaite in the U.S. This is the name he goes by in the U.S.
His mexican name is Alejandro Crosthwaite Reyes.
The D.A. wont touch it, already been down that road.Your best bet is to get his U.S. address and sue him in a class action suit. If he has any equaity in his house or business here you can sue for that. A lawyer more than likely will take it on consignment if there is any assets in his home.
HE IS BEING SUED BY A NUMBER OF PEOPLE RIGHT NOW AND THE BANKS DOWN THERE HAVE TAKEN MOST OF HIS POWER AWAY. To sue make sure you spell everything right and have your figures right.

We purchased two Condos unit 307 and 1407 in 2005-2006. We paid $282K and $322K and placed $184,600 as a deposit on both. It took Alex over 5 years to complete which the contract states twenty-four months and another two months for financing. He is in breach and has never gotten in touch with us to deliver the units or to expedite finance.We want our original deposit back and there should be a cloud on title because I still have a contract that is under breach and never resolved. He is Satan himself. He is evil, a thief, swindler and a rip-off artists. He is a con. Do not do business with this man. Do not go to this development. He has held our money for eight years now and will not give it back. He is a horrible, horrible person. Do not do business with Alejandro Croswaite Reyes. He will rip you off. Does anyone have a good attorney that has sued Alex and won? I have hired two different attorneys that said they would be able to handle a lawsuit, but took our money as well and has not performed. Please let me know of a good Mexican attorney, by answering back here with their name, phone number and email address. Thank you. Steve

We just stayed there this past week and inquired about purchasing a unit. We got one story from a pair of residents (which I believe) and another from the real estate agent. Can someone please tell me what is going on with this building (Las Olas Mar Y Sol) lest we make a mistake? Thank you!

Hello Sarah, read my post above. I would keep as far away from Las Olas Mar y Sol as possible. Alejandro Crothwaite Reyes is a thief. He has taken $184,600 from my and my partner. We purchased units 307 and 1407, it took him over five years to complete, he has never reached us to close. he took our money and did not close the deal. I have two contracts that are worthless unless I can find a Mexican attorney that is legitimate and not a thief as Alejandro is. I would not even come close to dealing with Las Olas Mar y Sol.

Any news about Alejandro Crothwaite Reyes, Is he still ripping people off? He is trying to get us into getting 3 weeks through Interval Time Share. Honestly we don't know what to do. We will like our money back but I don't think is ever going to happen!!!!
If anyone has any new information about Las Olas Mar y Sol, please share so we can all benefit from it. May be even get and attorney and sue him.

I purchased units at both Las Olas Grand and Marysol. Alejandro Crosthwaite is the biggest crook I ever met. When I begun to challenge him legally he tried several scare tactics so we would drop the suits. Alejandro Crosthwaite was arrested because of his illegally activity. He had to post bail of over 100k to get out, and the trial is currently under way. Because he is so afraid of loosing in court he has tried to scare my wife and I from proceeding with the case. He had a guard at Las Olas lie and say I pushed him so the police arrested me. Even worse he had another guard lie and say my wife broke the office door and she was arrested. Both these cases have since been dropped due to the good work of my attorney. Recently the administration at Las Olas Grand is now lying and saying we broke the front gate when actually the guard closed the gate on my car. Thank goodness I filmed the entire event. My attorney went to the police chief and warned him if I get illegally arrested again we will be suing the police dept. Its a shame we have to video every move we make in the common areas to protect ourselves, otherwise lies are fabricated in an effort to get us arrested. We have paid our HOA dues a year in advance yet the administration chooses to say they have not received them so they can keep us from using the elevator, pool, gym and other things. Imagine being a prisoner in your own home. My attorney had to get a resolution from the city to stopped them from bullying us. At Las Olas there is no transparency from the administration on where the HOA dues are going. Most of the time the workers are working on the personal units of Alejandro Crosthwaite yet the home owners are flipping the bill. An illegal hotel was started that has changed the complete feeling of the complex. A peaceful home (Condo) was sold to us years ago and now it has turned into a hotel and timeshare with many problems and lots of damage from renters and people parting. You should do your homework before buying anything at Las Olas because most likely there will be a huge assessment in the future due to bad management. One of my neighbors recently showed me the recorded minutes of an illegal HOA meeting held by Alejandro Crosthwaite. In the recorded document it states all owners were notified yet none showed up for the meeting. Every owner I have spoken with, said they were never notified. Obviously this meeting was illegal but it allowed Alejandro Crosthwaite to maintain the administration and not pay HOA dues on his 51 hotel units. Even worse he can take amenities away from home owners and give them to the hotel. Currently the bank is selling 41 units they took over for about 25% of the cost many of us whom purchased from Alejandro Crosthwaite. It is partly due to the economy but mostly due to poor management by the current administration. In my opinion purchasing anything at Las Olas is very risky until the crook Alejandro Crosthwaite is not in control any longer. BE CAREFUL! He will retaliate very dirty and illegally if challenged.
