I am curious, does Mexico celebrate America's independence
on the 4th of July? Are there holiday's for this? Mexico's independence should be celebrated by Mexico in Mexico, I just don't believe that America should nor do I believe America should consider the 5th of May a holiday of any kind. This is America not Mexico.

Yes i was charged with driving while revoked , unknowing that infact that i was revoked on 3-16-11. Know the officer waited to secure the warrant for "perjury" until the day after i was released, that day being 4-27-11, on 4-28-11 to file the charges for witch i was re-arrested and went back to jail.Ispent five days in L.C.D.C. for that charge. The person responsible for these reports need to get the facts straight before posting these editorials to the public so that a person is not seen as a bad person as these reports make them seem to be !!!I am a full time employed man trying to make a living in ruidoso, I am making two mortgage payments on two properties in ruidoso downs with my wife and our daughter. A little bit of respect is all i ask so that i may recieve a fair shake in our quest to live our life without any un-needed attention or unwanted criticism. Respectfully. Billie McCoy

This is America and we don't need to celebrate any holiday for Mexico. Go to Mexico to celebrate and stay out of the United States of America..

While Cinco de Mayois an important date in Mexican history (not their Independance Day, just a victory in a battle) , it, along with St. Patrick's Day are both the result of great marketing plans created years and years ago by beer companies as unofficvial holidays and an exceuse to PARTY

Thanks for the history behind Cinco de Mayo, Dr. Orozco. Our state's history is interwoven with Mexico's past, as you say....and it sure is helpful to know more about the origins of this day.
Cheers

Ya'll need to get your panties straightened out. People don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo which is why people think it is Mexican Independence Day. It is simply an occasion to have Mex food and margaritas. St. Patrick's Day- corned beef & cabbage. Oktoberfest- sausage & Bear! Kwanzaa- fried chicken & mac n' cheese. Lent season- fish n' chips. I agree with Oh-bomb-ah, these are mere marketing events that generate great revenues. I for one, will drink to any occasion! Cheers!!!

While your celebrating Cinco de Mayo, celebrate our Navy Seals by ordering a "Bin Laden"-- it's two shots with a splash of water.
Question.....

That is the funniest thing I've heard all week (if you don't count the hysterical drivel emerging from the mouth of the republicans and faux news) THANKS for the laughs!!!

Cinco de mayo is just another day here. Only Americans are debating this. Maybe in the south of Mexico it is important but I went to work today and nobody even discussed it.

That is the funniest thing I've heard all week (if you don't count the total lack of reality drivel emerging from the mouth of the democrats and PMSNBC ) THANKS for the laughs!!!

I'll make this really, really simple: The USA has a revenue of $2.2 Trillion and is spending $3.5 Trillion. The math is easy. The system is BROKE and inflation is starting. What costs a dollar now will cost you $1.25 in a year. IF you spend $100 a week at the grocery store, expect to spend $125 for the same things. Washington DC is more focused on getting your vote that tackling a run-away economy on the brink of collapse. And it's not just the Dems, the Repubs are also to blame.
It's time for EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN to make their voice heard here and in Wash DC. Otherwise, no complaining when the crash hits you.

If you don't want to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, don't, it's that easy! I think we need more celebrations and I'll participate in all of them.......If there is not going to be dancing at the revolution, I'm not going!....
