One of Mexico's most powerful criminal gangs has muscled into the migrant-smuggling racket, changing what had been a relatively benign, if risky, industry of independent operators into a centralized business that often has deadly consequences for those who try to operate outside it.

All the more reason to put 500,000 troops on the border! If you oppose the ILLEGAL DRUG TRADE putting the troops on the border would bring drugs along with ILLEGALS to a grinding halt!! When potential ILLEGALS and drug smugglers realize the chances of getting past the military and Border Patrol will be nearly impossible they will not even try!

Since like the border patrol the military would only be allowed to politely ask illegals, terrorists and drug runners to please stop as they run into the U.S. it would do very little to stop them. Now if the military is allowed to defend the border the way they defend the borders in Iraq and Afghanistan…….

I agree...however we have seen the restrictions on our military because of posse comatitus diminish over the years. We just need a president with some guts to get the job done.

The coyotes were never a problem until we started on a campaign of knee-jerk solutions to the immigration problem without considering the consequences.

This is an industry that we created. Everybody can stand up and take a bow.

As a bonus, for the past one hundred years illegal immigrants would come north for a few months, make some money and go home again. Then they would return the following year. Nobody liked the idea, but the ebb and flow kept the number of illegal immigrants at a relatively constant number.

Now it is so expensive to cross the border that nobody goes home anymore. They just stay here. That is what caused the spike in the illegal immigrant population in the past twenty years.

Ever hire an ILLEGAL to do the work around your house that you are too lazy to do? You really are a moron...coyotes are a cottage industry because America makes it too hard for an ILLEGAL to go home? So if we remove all the border patrol from the border for one week all ILLEGALS WOULD LEAVE right? And of course none would enter ILLEGALLY during that week because after the week was up GOING HOME WOULD BE HARD TO DO AGAIN. Why don't we just provide coyotes for the southbound trip, free of charge?Based on your rationale they would be linning up by the thousands for the service.

Mexicans love killing each other and pimping out their women, what a great culture. (NOT)
