The hypocrisy that is Mexico. Mexico is one of the most vocal voices for immigrant rights yet treats their own immigrants worse than anything imaginable in the USA. Mexico doesn't care one peso about immigrant rights, they only care about the money that migrants send home. Mexico es un fiasco!

I agree with the above. And one hates to point out, America is called a nation of immigrants BUT that generally means people emigrated from the OLD world to the NEW, from the crowded older societies to the Americas. People moving now from Mexico to the USA should not be compared to earlier immigrants. They should be welcome to come here legally under guidelines and limits set by the USA in our own best interest just like people from any other country. But it is time to clamp down on the border, punish, fine or deport those who've broken our laws, and force Mexico to fix itself. They had their shot with a huge, resource rich country for the last two hundred years and they are blowing it. The idea that they have some kind of right after their failure in the New World to flood our shores just doesn't hold water. We are going to have to grow a backbone and enforce our laws. And in the end, this is the best thing for them. Sucking out all their entrepreneurs and leaving the rest to rot is the crueler of the two options for those like myself who care for the people of Mexico.

Exactly! It will be pretty much an armed military escort for the immigrants. There is too much money involved to try and really stop drugs and illegals, and for that matter, the U.S. doesn't really want a an even more destabilized Mexico. No bueno! There is no real solution our government is broke and their government is corrupt, and that my friends is a recipe for disaster for neighboring countries.

Now we're REALLY SCREWED,with mexico's law not making it a crime to enter illeglly meaning they're WELCOME, COME ONE COME ALL. What does that mean for us? only that MEXICO will DO NOTHING to allow them to continue ON to the US,how thoughtful of mexico, they will probably even push'em towards our border and why not? they don't want to deal with all of them, let it be the US'S problem as if we didn't have enough of their MEXICANS and their businesses trashing our cities already.

They must be displeased with the numbers making it to the United States and want to implement policies that will assist millions more in making it across the border, meanwhile the completely useless United States Federal Government masturbates while the USA falls in to complete disarray.

Mexico is a joke, they treat their illegals bad, like they aren't even humans. This will never change, it's the way Mexico always has been, and always will be...

Instead of an Immigration Shake-Up is should be called an Immigration Shake-Down. Now the Mexican Goverment will escort Illegal Aliens directly to the U.S. Border. What does Mr. Obama have to say?

The Mexican goverment realized that the cartels were making money off the immigrants and is going to see that only they (mexican goverment)make the money to be made off these people. And as some one mentioned before the goverment will more that likely transport these South american imigrants to their northern border for a fee. Mexico will always be a country of slime. memo to all previous posters: pack your bags and go back to the old country your ancestors came from... you dont belong in aztlan, you dont have the right to criticize mexico or mexicans when your ancestors stole these lands from their rightful owners. Get a grip on the history of the border or STFU!

Hey, before Mexico wants to take on more territory, tell me with a straight face that they've demonstrated that they can handle what they've had for the past couple of hundred years.

Otra cosa, how much Spanish DNA do you in your veins, mestizo? If you're such a pure AZZ-LAND specimen, why don't you start commnicating with everyone in Nahuatl ahorita mismo.

i'm just curious to see if our new congress is going to keep their promise and toughen up the immigration laws and crack down on the illegals. i feel that this new congress is seriuos about the illegal situation and things are going to change drastically. lets wait and see. i think that the republicans have realised that most mexican americans support tougher immigration laws, and i'm one of them. in all honesty we have to put an end to this influx of illegals. and please don't bring up the who was here first argument, that's in the past the present is now.

Did you miss that Repubs LEADERS are after cheap labor and that all their posturing is pure rhetoric to fool stupid voters into voting against their own best interests? You may support Team Republican, but only if you hold your nose and don't examine that pig too closely
