Ruben Navarrette: Immigration debate shows hypocrisy on both sides

MEXICO CITY – If you think the debate over immigration from Mexico into the United States is complicated, just take a trip south of the border and look at it from that side.

first off nothing mexico has to say that needs to be heard in our congress,we are not part of them even though we have funded just about everything in mexico and their people slither here to rob from our economy and send it back there.

we need to cut all things off with them we have been too nice for to long to a country who is older than us yet have never grew up to be self supporting.

we need out of nafta and put American citizens first and foremost. let them deal with their own people that need to leave and go home.we have heard the cry they cannot take or even want their own people back, this should not be our problem.

Let's cut them off from the free stuff. They will self deport. Mexico will be forced to take care of their own.

"Better make that, partly responsible. It's also well-known that Mexico has a co-conspirator: U.S. employers. These folks often prefer to hire Mexican laborers over American counterparts. And not because the foreigners work for lower wages but because they tend to have more of a work ethic and less sense of entitlement."

This is the funniest paragraph in the story. I wonder if Ruben was able to keep a straight face when he wrote it.

"For much of the 20th century, when it came to migration, Mexico had a good thing. It got rid of millions of people that its economy didn't have room for, and then those people went on to send home remittances that today total more than $20 billion."

This is it in a nutshell, Mexico will scream the loudest when this issue comes up yet again, for she is very dependant upon those remittances. She really prefers that those she can't support sneak into our country, giving her a double bonus. She gets rid of the people with whom she doesn't want to be held responisble, and she gets the remittances...of course she's going to scream like a banshee. If our government grew some, they'd would tax the he** out of the remittances, which would eventually cause illegals to send less home, and maybe they would pump right it back into our economy instead.

Open Letter to John Gibson,Shawn Hannity,John Boehner,Luis V. Gutierrez & Lindsey Graham

11/9/2012

The gentleman I've listed above are advocating amnesty for the 12-20 million (wag) illegal aliens in our country . I strongly disagree with their position for the following reasons.

In 1986 President Reagan signed off on a bill granting amnesty to 1 1/2- 2 Million illegal aliens, today I wonder how many more of their family members are here now because of the Chain
Immigration policy in place?

In the past 26 years since President Reagan signed that bill, because of politicians like Congressman John Boehner , Luis V. Gutierrez and Senator Lindsey Graham who have none nothing to help control our borders except to stick their finger in the dike to appease the voters at home,12-20 Million more illegal aliens (wag) have entered our country and now because the finger caper didn't work their solution to the problem is amnesty.

The message that people like Sean Hannity , John Boehner , Luis V. Gutierrez & Lindsey Graham are sending to immigrants around the world is that if you can enter our country illegally without getting caught and hide out for another 26 years, then sooner or later another amnesty will be granted.

Case in point, a large number of American Hispanic voters including Chicago Congressman Luis V Gutierrez have again rally their support for amnesty, and are using their vote to blackmail the Democrats into granting it. My question is what are those Hispanic Americans basing their support on?

My answer is it's based on the fact that a large number of the illegal aliens are also Hispanics which would appear to make their support based on race.( Google some of Chicago Congressman Luis V Gutierrez's comments on the subject).

Now if I say I don't support amnesty because it's wrong then those same people yell "Racist".
We currently have no control of immigration into our country, yet continue to allow in around 900,000 legal immigrations a year, and now John Gibson,Shawn Hannity,John Boehner,Luis V. Gutierrez & Lindsey Graham want to add 12-20 Million illegal aliens to our population which is now around 315 Million.

My question to John Gibson, Sean Hannity , John Boehner , Luis V. Gutierrez & Lindsey Graham that support amnesty is how many more immigrants legal & illegal entering our country will make you happy?

My closing comment is that violating our immigration laws should not be rewarded with American Citizenship, it's worth more than that! Just because you can walk across our borders or swim / wade across a river doesn't give someone a place at the head of the line here. The line for those people starts inside the border of their own country.

To compound the problem, under the 14 Amendment we have around 300,00 new American Citizens a year born in our country to just illegal Hispanic women, and yes John,Shawn , John B.,Luis & Lindsey a lot of them walk or swim/ wade across our border to have those babies.

I love this quote:

Some Americans need hyphens in their names because only part of them has come
over; but when the whole man has come over, heart and thought and all, the hyphen
drops of its own weight out of his name. This man was not an Irish-American; he
was an Irishman who became an American.
–Woodrow Wilson (1914)

The problem is some immigrants refuse to assimilate. We are no longer a melting pot, but rather breaking up into parts, no longer a stew, but side dishes so-to-speak. That is not good for this country...we need to have a renewed pride of country and a total immersion of immigrants in English, American patriotism and traditional American values. There is one little snag in all this. How can we demand that immigrants respect us and our country when our own politicians criticize our history, culture, values and traditions? Multiculturalism hurts any country.

Now you have all heard it. The real truth.... No American Citizenship. They want to crawl around, under the radar, getting away with what they know best. Crimes

If the countries dumping their unwanted on you are yelling your proposal is wrong, then there is a very good chance your proposal is right.

Just a little hint.

Sure

People lie. So if you're trying to get rid of something you don't want and the buyer says it's a rubbish deal, then you lie and tell the buyer that he's wrong.
