Holly...!!!

So much problem for an statue!! We Mexicans do not understand what happens between Armenians and Azeries, Turks, or whatever.

Let the statue there, and put another statue of a great Armenian, Jew, or whatever two blocks away and lets forget about it.

If every president will put his statue whichever country he wants, we are about 200 or more nations, so we will have 200 statue's of presidents in every country. Do you think it's acceptable ???

Is kind of like what you would hear from the people of the Balkans:
Armenians accuse Turks and Azeris of Genocide, Azeris accuse Armenians of genocide, Turks make movies where they demonize Armenians ...and all that nasty stuff.

the goverment of the DF wanted to save money by leasing areas of parks to foreign goverments, they could put their monuments there but they needed to keep the area clean, the foreign goverment in question put the statue of a former Azeri dictator which is backed by the current Azeri goverment but despised by all Armenians including Armenian-Mexicans like Arturo Sarukhan who didn't lose any time to try to attract media attention to the DF's goverment decision to let the Azeris put the statue there.

Which means that we got dragged into a very old and bitter dispute between two countries with which we didn't really had any relations just because the DF wanted to save some pesos.

I am putting the blame where it belongs: in the goverment of the DF, they were the ones who approved letting the Azeris put whatever they wanted in that place in exchange for money.

I think Mexico shouldn't take part in the mutual animosity between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The guy who approved the statue and then took it down needs to return the money to Azerbaijan and issue a formal apology not be hailed as hero by some Armenians who only know part of the story.
