Sorry Barbara. but your geography is completely inaccurate. As you describe, South America begins at the border with Mexico. You are placing Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico in South America, there are NOT. Have you heard of Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay? Where are they located, In the South Pole?

Nice article. For the most part I've found people south of the border to be friendly. Of course, you want to acclimate to the local culture. It's a challenge and fun at the same time. For the folks reading this article from south of the border, please mention where you are living, and how you like it. I used to live in Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico. It's not a place where I would recommend a gringo to retire, but Merida, in the Yucatan is nice. Also, Panama is American in many ways. That would be a nice place to chill out.

Cheers. Bob

its pretty
that americans
can't even afford
a really nice home
here in america, huh?

even more sad
that they choose to live areas
in latin america
that are even more poorer
than africa.

Maybe it was George Bush's fault right?
