I had a Ford Fiesta. It got 38 miles per gallon. Held only 10 gallons of gasoline. 4cylinder engine. You wouldn't believe the take off as that this would scoot.
Only problem I ever had was when the weather got really cold. Don't know if the thermostat was bad or what but when it was winter, the heater wouldn't work very well. I could pull over, place the front end up against a building wall, allow the engine to heat up a bit. Not allowing air flow into the radiator. Sit there about 20 minutes and could feel the heat start to warm up. The world has gone nuts. I wish the USA would discover or find some alternative source of fuel that would FORCE the rest of the world to go down the tubes. They, the ragheads, are raping us. USA oil ceo's aren't helping either. |

Grill covers in combination with the use of dial gauges for engine/oil temperature. These grill covers have adjustable zippers too for more or less air flow to adjust engine temperature. They are usually employed on tractor trailers and on vehicles at higher altitudes. |

1 $3B goes so much, much further in Mexico. Competition forces companies to go global. The guy who has nothing will work for anything. We bitch about being able to pay the mortgage on our $200k homes - you think the guy who hasn't eaten in weeks doesn't deserve a chance? Your job went overseas. Wah. Your feet aren't *really* stuck in the ground. Lower your expectations, take a Spanish or Chinese correspondence course, and go show those guys how to make a Quality American automobile! |

This will save Ford's financial butt for sure: a Mexican Yugo.

Maybe an alternative for drug smuggling...

Makes sense, actually. The Fiesta is more affordable to Mexicans and it is doubtful that Ford would be able to market the auto success- fully here in any case. Ford is surely committed to other autos in the U.S. after all these years. As for those who want an American made auto- mobile, its not even possible given that components are made in so many locations around the world and shipped to the point of assembly anyway. |

Bill, They are building cars outside of Hanoi and here in Thailand. I don't know what the models are but I did see the plants. |

Bob, Looking at a Kunming, Dali trip around Oct. Not too sure but I think only one night in Dali at the Gurong Hotel. I'll let you know when things get firmed up. This is not chiseled in stone. |

1 In Mexico or China ? You're crazy, my point was Americans should be helping American companies who build American products in America instead of helping sellouts sellout America. When you lose your job to Mexico or China do America a favor and follow your job there ! |

If my job (which is here because a British company outsourced to the US) was to "go" to China or Mexico and I was unqualified to do anything in the US, you bet your sweet biffy I'd follow it. Hopefully I'd still have enough saved up to establish a good base over seas (or the Rio Grande) and, since few over there make what we do over here, I could still afford to live pretty well. What's the alternative, collect welfare and complain? A species has to be able to adapt to its changing environment. |

1 I would bet you would be one of the few who would be willing to do that. |
