All hell really broke loose. Even though they did a lot of damage they did fairly well on not injuring or killing citizens.

yadi yadi yadi yadi, vote to legalized drugs here in the USA and it all goes away, billions of dollares saved in fighting drug smuggling, billions of dollars saved by having empty prisons, billions of dollars made by taxing it, and use all the saved money to set up education and clinic to really help the drug addicts that want to be clean.
The problem is here (the USA. We are a drug infested society. The day will come when all that goes on outside our borders will be within or borders.Just cut out all the welfare dependent druggies and you'll see first hand how uncivel we can become when there are no more free handouts.

Here in Guadalajara about a dozen buses were set on fire by a cartel in protest to the arrest of one of their leaders. Only one confirmed death so far, who may have been cartel related. People were commanded at gun point to leave the buses, then the buses were set on fire.
The police, military and federalis are all over the city on every major road. Things were cleaned up by 4 PM.
pm planning a trip to jalisco in a moth or two, do you think it is safe for me to go???

Guadalajara jalisco and mexico in general is a very happy place..Narcos are respected and participate in their communities..They have honor and a code...Usually they will warn someone before violence..It is true that maybe 25% of the population have family in or are involved with these cartels. Now that the competition between cartels (created by the government crackdowns)has arisen it is very dangerous for civillians who are caught in the crossfire.

before the government crackdowns,,local officials and the local cartel leaders actually worked hand in hand to prevent crimes and eliminate"new" gangs from forming. That peaceful and cooperative union no longer exists because of federal intervention in mexico...

I do not know the solution to the violence, however I do have two reccomendations.

1.Federales unite with local politicos and the most honorable local cartel and work together to eliminate the violence and return the mexican people to a peaceful coexistence.

2. Promote a program to legalize drugs worldwide. This program MUST use the current resources wasted on fighting drugs to educate and help people who choose to use drugs that harm them.

It is all about money and power but in Mexico believe it or not HONOR (machoism if you think that) and family are more importand than the money!!
