I certainly hope they send ice to keep the beer cold. And there better be LOTS of beer on the bus back to CA.

So the ship (2 years old) doesn't work and Carnival is just letting the thing bob around the Pacific Ocean (50-75 miles off the coast). When the Titanic went down (almost 100 years ago) there were lots of ships (passenger and cargo) in the area to get the passengers off, and they were in the middle of the Atlantic.

Certainly there are many other vessels in the area to get these poor saps back to land.

This is why I only travel using Netjets. Private jets are the only way to travel.

My Prediction: People on board will deny personal responsibility to have purchased trip insurance in advance, although most were offered it and told to buy it..they will want Carnical (the evil corporation) and the government to rescue them.

This happens every couple years in FArgo too. The floods make the people there victims (even though they still don't buy flood insurance). The government is the perpetrator for causing the flood to happen and they want the government to be the rescuer too by writing checks.

Personal responsibility!!!!!!!!!

Everyone is getting a full refund and to the other posters. There are tug boats on the way to tow it in.

Sounds tough to me, floating in the ocean on a cruise ship. Pool still functional, same for umbrella drinks.

All are getting a refund plus coupons for a free cruise. Not bad, let me get on board.

Why should anyone have to "purchase trip insurance" at extra cost to compensate them for a corporate failure like this? Shouldn't the COMPANY have insurance which would enable it to compensate the victims of their own mismanagement of their ships?

Typical corporate type - make people pay for your own incompetence, and have a battery of lawyers onhand to punish anyone who steps out of line. You're disgusting.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a wasted trip,
45,000 passengers,
Aboard this big-assed, useless ship......

#1. ALWAYS purchase insurance. For those that didn't, any NUMBER of common vacation mishaps (theft/illness) could have taken place.
And if it were'nt for 'evil' corporations, we'd all be WALKING to work naked and this forum and the computers we use would not exist.

its a corporation accident that can be fixed by the corporation, why government interference?
I thought corporations didn`t want government interference in their business.

why is the government getting involved in the business of a corporation?
corporations have always said they don`t need the government, corporations have always said they can handle everything without government interference.

They said the cold water still worked, so the toilets should work. As for refunds or anything else, nobody knows anything.
