It's ironic, but if this continues, the amount of wiring available will come down to the appropriate quantity that matches the amount of electricity supplied. In other words, most of those wires had no juice most of the time.

The Dominican Republic is part of the island of Hispaniola in the Carribean. It is not part of Mexico, why was it posted to the Mexico forum?

The practice of stealing copper wiring is not exclusive to the third world, it is common practice in the first world too by the homeless and drug addicts and in answer to Mustaree's comments, in many cases the wires were live and there have been a number of deaths. Theft of cooper wiring seriously affects businesses and homes and the idea that only "excess" wiring is stolen is just plain wrong.

Do we think this can't happen in America with the invasion of all the illegals, making it a third world country. If not its way past time to wake up.

The wire stealing in the US is being done by AMERICAN homeless and drug addicts. Don't keep pointing the finger at illegals for all of the America's ills. That's what Hitler did with the Jews and look what happened. Most of the illegals are just trying to survive. They are NOT criminals

Not to forget that the main buyer for copper is China. So, the scrap metal comes nowhere near the US

what homeless people steal here the most to buy crack or whatever, are the plates on dominican landmarks and letters in businesses witch are usually copper or bronze, and the grounding wires on the electric meters because there quick and easy to get...
