These type of candidates usually win. People will be sentimental to the family of the assassinated one.

If a doctor died, would that doctor's brother do his job even though he didn't study to become a doctor?

Well many of these people are politically connected and in constantly the political arena. Many of these families and groups may not be in the forefront. They usually are in the background. It usually is a family affair.
