'Blood wires' over the Mexican border

Reporting from Phoenix - The bleeding body of Mexican immigrant Javier Resendiz Martinez was the first thing police noticed when they raided the bungalow on North 63rd Avenue here four years ago after reports of gunshots. Full Story

Yeah, it's kind of clear at this point that Mexico has absolutely nothing to offer except drugs, human trafficking, and cartels who have no problem exterminating anyone who even remotely gets in their way. Well, there are those lovely vacation spots.... oh wait, the drug cartels are turning them into war zones now too. Guess Mexico doesn't have anything left to offer the U.S that would be worthwhile. Time to shut down the border before they really start bringing this war onto our turf.

End the drug war ... this will vastly reduce the Mexican cartel problem, as well as save hundreds of billions in costs for DEA, FBI, military and other wasted resources.

The war on drugs has never worked, and it never will. Americans need to get their Ritalin-soaked heads out of their Percocet-laced drunken assses and get with the program.

Enough is enough.

I am reporting from Phoenix and I say our Government
Federal and State have failed to protect our
U.S./Mexican border from the flood of illegal immigrants.
I further report that Mayors and Police Depts. by
their inaction have turned some cities
into sanctuary cities.
Need I report the immigration laws of this country are not being enforced.

It's too late to put up a fence now.
It's like closing the barn door after the horses ran away.
.
As a staunch republican I must admit, Bush could have handeled immigration enforcement better.
.
We don't need Immigration reform, we need immigration enforcement. Maybe when people earn their way into this country. Maybe they will rescpct the culture and language.

Keeping Pot Ileagle in the US supports the Mexican Drug Cartels! After decades of trying and billions in DEA budgets they are no closer then when they started. Hello McFly somethings not working. At this point the US Govt is supporting all of this, not to mention encouraging it all. what a waste!

If they cant respect our laws why would they respect anything about the US?

Millions of us agree.
But bipatisan greedy politicians want global economy
Reps take campaign money from large corporations who want cheap labor while Dems want the hispanic voters in the present and future.
Meanwhile American citizens across the country are being murdered, stalked, kidnapped, paying the economic bills for the medical care, educations, etc for the invasion of illegals from throughout the world.
Please read the gov report

Mexican lawlessness and chaos continue to spread into this country. We need to work to save America from becoming the kind of failed state and failed society that Mexico is. We must demand that immigration laws be enforced--against the illegal alien invaders and against the employers who hire them (hiring illegals is particularly treasonous at a time when millions and millions of Americans are unemployed and on the brink). We need real security on the border, including multi-layer fencing where appropriate. We need to end the treason of "sanctuary cities" by withholding all federal funding (why should we subsidize the destruction of American society carried out by Chicago, SF, LA, etc.?). We also need to deport all 20 million illegals ASAP. Legal immigrants are welcome, but illegal alien invaders are unwelcome and have no right to be in the US at all.

Whenever possible, buy American. And always hire American.

While it is possible that Western Union money transfers play a major role in aiding smugglers, however far and away the most aid to smugglers is the fact that most US politicians are many times more concerned with continuintg to get large election campaign contributions, and with many of those political contributions coming from those who profit from trafficking, than they are in protecting the US.

I'm afraid we lost the border a long time ago...if we ever had one. Much of the land along the "border" has been ceded to Mexicans and it is essentualy theirs. Santa Ana invited settlers into Texas and lost it a few years later. The Mexicans were invited in and while they're not taking it over by war, they're taking it over by simply walking in, settling in and demanding their rights.

At least Santa Ana fought to maintain his land, the U.S. is simply handing it over.

it seems pretty easy to fix, actually. we could just be like every other country on earth and change our laws so that a newborn is considered to have the same nationality as the parents.

and no, this isn't racist - Americans living in England who have children end up with children who are AMERICAN.

Time to stop the flow.

Time to protect this country.

Time to stop "anchor babies".

Time to stop government aid to those who are not legal residents.

Time to stop healthcare to those who are not legal residents.

California, that debt-ridden state is giving identity cards to illegals.

How can this economy get back in shape when there are so many illegals?

How can this country be protected when there is such blatant UNenforcement of our border.

Already this al qaida guy is threatening the US by crossing the mexican border with a suitcase of anthrax.

Make sure your representatives KNOW you want our borders protected and those that are in the US illegally are expunged.

You got it right.

Do you know if you sneak into Mexico and get caught it is a mandatory one year sentence?
Plus no freebies.
Even if you enter legally you get.
NO FREE MEDICAL CARE.
NO FREE FOOD.
NO FREE SCHOOL
NO FREE NOTHING

Think we could learn something from Mexico on the immigration subject???

As a former AZ resident, I can assure you that Western Union makes millions on money transfers to Mexico, no questions asked. If the Western Union starts cooperating with the government, illegal Mexicans will stop using Western Union and thus costing WU a lot of money. WU puts profits ahead of our nation's safety and security.

I know that there is a service fee that Western Union and competing services charge for sending money- but are these transactions also Taxed by the US Gov't?
Put a 10 percent tax (or higher) on that $2.19 or $1.78 Billion worth or remittances.
Use that money for funding the Border Patrol.
I doubt many money senders would notice the irony of paying for the fence they're climbing over.
--
'"remittances" had dropped by more than 18 percent in the past year, from $2.19 billion in April 2008 to $1.78 billion this April. It was the biggest such decline on record.'
