I will have to say most of the "young" rappers from the south have simplified rap. The shake your booty strip club songs are a bit tried. Now, Outcast, TI, Young Joc, Luda and some others are great rappers from the south but these new stuff leaves something to be desired.

Not really... I think that southern people can't comprehend what Nas, Jay Z, Biggie, or Tupac speaks about in their music... so instead of trying to learn, they rather "Dumb It Down" and listen to Shawty Lo or Soulja Boy... the southern artist are the same way with the exception of Outkast, T.I., Goodie Mob, and others... they sit there with a pen and pad, maybe attempt to write a lyrical song, but can't do it... thats where you come up with "Crank That Yank, Soulja Boy, Batman" and so on. Its kool 2 dance in the club 2 certain records, but now the whole hip hop genre is about dancing, when its supposed 2 be about self expression and letting go anger 4rm an "Urban" perspective. Remember, "they" left "our" people out on their roofs without nothing for a damn week in a city full of water... we were "looting" and not "trying to survive"... thats hip hop, Hurricane Katrina happened in the south, but I've only heard a song speaking on it 4rm Jay Z, a New York native... not one southern rapper took the chance 2 speak on that... if it was 1995 u better believe 2 Pac, Biggie, Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ, The Lox, Dr. Dre and others would have been all on that s*!%... what about Jena 6? A lot of sh*% is going on that you southern artist can rap about!

imma tell everyone this write now the south didnt kill hip hop atlanta did by producing rappers such as soulja boy, ying yang twins, lil jon and other sucky ass rappers. did get mad people in the a.t.l yall still have good rappers such as jeezy, t.i, outkast, pastor troy, and luda although luda is really from dallas and jezzy is really from south carolina. but i will admit we have some sucky rappers to from houston that put out stupid sh*t and you should know WHO it is i left a hint in the sentence incase you dont know WHO im talkin about. also people from the north really cant talk 50 cent, mims, fat joe they all suck as well so yall really cant talk. also everyone thinks no one down south can rap have you every heard of z-ro, trae, fat pat, lil keke this are houston rappers that arent known you probably heard of keke he made chunk up the duece with paul wall i didnt like it to much and im from houston so i know many on hear dont but listen to this few songs and you'll think diffrent about the south houston at least.

You had many flaws in what you wrote.
Like mentioning southerners can't comprehend what Jay-z is talking about? That's good for a laugh because while I'm a Jay-z fan and a defender of him he talks about bullshit.Their I said it.And master-p donated a ton of money to the victims of katrina.Lil Wayne even made a song about Katrina on "Tha Carter III".Did I think it was lame and sounded like fake emotion yes but technically he made a song about katrina. And if you think that southerners listen to Soulja Boy and Shawty Lo you clearly don't know anything about the south. Most of the people out here who listen to hip-hop like the Houston Underground scene which has some good rappers.
__________
You're actually saying Dr.Dre,Foxy Brown,The Lox,and Biggy would've been talking about Katrina if Katrina happend in the 90s.Seriously Foxy Brown. She never rapped about anything of substance.Neither did the lox.Who were just a brag rap group and really nothing more.Dr.Dre was actually a generic gangster rapper if I ever heard one.Raps about weed and hoes.Go pop in "2001" if you want to here and album with 0 substance. You remind me of the type of person who says stuff like "Man hip-hop sucks now,it has no substance, like back in the day when we had rappers like Eazy and Snoop Dogg who was actually talking about somthing important man".Those statements make me laugh.Because guys like snoop/eazy/and Dr.Dre have about as much substance as guys like weezy/jeezy/and Baby.
__________
When you talk southern hip-hop,you bring up the worst songs and the worst rappers. You also didn't mention Z-Ro or Scarface in your good southern rappers thing.
__________
If your going to talk shit' why don't you back it up by actually having a clue about what your talking about.

yea i agree biggy, the lox, and foxy brown i think defently wouldnt say nothin about the south, most new york people think their the sh*t and proved it at the 95 source awards. i like jay z at times but i got to admit his last 2 albums kinda sucked. and people give dre alot of credit because of the people he has worked with (2pac, Eminem, Ice Cube, Snoop, Eazy, MC Ren, etc)
most of them made his songs or wrote them. and like i said out of all those people they mostley name its (soulja boy, bow wow, d4l, dem francise boys, lil jon, ying yang twins, V. I. C, arab and others) come from what city are at least rep i believe the a.t.l now dont get me wrong htown have stupid rappers to but we dont even listen to them maybe slim thug, chamillion, keke and flip and thats because we know what their actually capable of mike jones, and paul wall the man 2 who arwe mainstream we usually dont cut for. but honestly like you said chris all houston people listen to is (z-ro, trae, keke, pokey, and old screw) which is why i countinue to post his stuff on all sights

New York people think their elite or somthing because hip-hop started there. Now New York is and will always be the center of hip-hop because of the legends they produced but to be real,New Yorkers are so annoying when you talk hip-hop with them. They make sure to bring up every bad rapper from the south to use it against you and their logic is because of these bad rappers are from the south and I am as well than I obviously listen to them.
__________
And I can't believe that dude said that Foxy Brown,Biggy, and The Lox would've talked about Katrina. The dude is obviously east coast bias because those rappers were just as shallow as any of the southern rappers they hate on.Now don't get me wrong biggy is my shit. And the lox is alright but they werent saying nothing of substance. That cat is retarded.Foxy????He can't be serious. All that b*tch ever talks about is typical female rapper shit like getting her p*ssy ate and braggin about bein a whore.
__________
And I remember the 95 source awards thing.I think that was when they booed outkast right?.Notice every time another area starts to get popular the east coast gets jealus. They used to hate on the west coast to back when the west-coast was on top.
I still respect the east coast for all the legends to come out of there and how thats where hip-hop got its' start but I think they're getting annoying.
And the sad thing is the east coast could get back on top if they wanted to but all they want to do is beef and fight each other.

Every New York rapper is beefin' with each other right now.Thats there problem. They're all punching each other and shit.
They got rappers like Saigon and Papoose who I think got all the talent in the world but are caught up in b.s beefs.Saigon sucker punched Prodigy and ran.And Papoose punched Fat Joe in the face.
