McCartney cameo at Joel concert brings fans back

When Paul McCartney walked onstage toward the end of Billy Joel 's concert at Shea Stadium, Rosalia Rosen felt the exhilaration she had experienced at the 1966 Beatles show in the same venue.

Not to mention that fans were amazed twice, with the final encore played by McCartney cathing everyone off guard. Great job, Billy. A night to remember as one of the great concerts of all time. It, like the Beatles 1966 concert was an event for the gaes, not just a concert.

the Beatle's 1965 concert drew 50,000 people.
It was nice of Paul to end the show with a bang.
The Beatle's started the concerts there and finished it too, rock on Paul.

I wonder how the people who paid big bucks for Billy Joel's last concert on Thursday at Shea feel? Not only did they get cheated out of the last show but they got cheated without seeing Paul McCartney.

Billy should have never added a show after they announced it would be the last show at Shea. If he wanted another show then he should of made it the day BEFORE on Wednesday.

This is why I sit home and listen to my CD's. I saw all these guys in their primes and that's how I want to remember them. But adding Paul was a nice touch for the fans who got to see the show.

You make a great point , I would have been upset myself.
Though I'm happy that Paul did a great thing, it's sad that Shea must be torn down.

Glad I spent big bucks for the Wednesday night show....the original "last show"!!!!!Dont get me wrong, I had a great time, but it hurt to find out that another show was added for Friday night. If he wanted (or planned) to "add" another show, Why not make it on Wednesday night. I know everyone says scheduling with the Mets made it impossible, but there was NO Baseball Game played on Wednesday at Shea!!!! I really feel cheated!

Since there was a member of The Beatles and The Who there, because both had played Shea back in the day, how come Mick Jagger wasn't there, because The Rolling Stones also played Shea back in the day? That would have been amazing.

Also, did anyone else notice that out of all the special guests Billy had, not one was a female?

Christina Aguilera would have been perfect. She is from Staten Island and has a great voice. She could have done an awesome duet with Tony Bennett.
