First of all , I can & will call & write them (The Denver Post ). So... according to this ...there are literally hundreds of people not telling the truth ? Sounds fishy ...
Look up (At the Article) It is everywhere , I am not saying the Eagles have not caught up , but these #'s are LOW according to other charts , REAL low , even for the Eagles . Perhaps this is only the USA charts & NOT the GLOBAL #'s Michael has behind him .

greatness isn't by how many albums you sell. nsync and spice girls sell alot of albums but would you call them great. what makes an album great is how it makes you feel when you hear it, and so many years after it came out it still makes people feel that way. eagles is still great because of that, micheal is right there too. none of these bands or groups or artists now a days can do that. thats why these albums will always be great.

A quick google search provides several sources claiming this including Billboard Magazine, I do believe however that these are US stats though and not worldwide.

I love that Thriller album still. Artists of today still scramble to create a like success, spectacle and dance history as that album. But I doubt that Jackson can make a comeback. He has a different sound that waht is popular music nowadays.

he could comeback if he did tours for people near his age to hear his classics and maybe one or two songs that he never released along the same sort of vein. Hey it works for Streisand and Maddona.

There are many extraordinary bands and artist's , of which I love a huge variety , the question is , how many albums were actually sold ? I will write to Sony & see if I get a responce .
It is a fact that you see ( Thiller sold over 100 million copies ) quite often .

I understand . That is fine :) BTW was trying to figure the sales out ..I read Thriller sold 27 Million in the US alone .
Here is Global ..
With over 104 million copies sold, it is the best-selling album ever[3][4] and made Jackson's fame global

[edit] Certifications/chart history
Country Certification Sales Country Certification Sales Country Certification Sales
Argentina 10x Platinum 500,000 Australia 12x Platinum 850,000 Brazil 6x Diamond 2,000,000
Belgium 11x Platinum 550,000 Canada 2x Diamond 2,000,000 Finland 3x Platinum 90,000
France 3x Diamond 3,000,000 Germany 3x Platinum 1,500,000 Japan 2x Diamond 2,500,000
Mexico Diamond 500,000 Netherlands 11x Platinum 880,000 New Zealand 10x Platinum 150,000
Portugal 3x Platinum 140,000 Spain 8x Platinum 640,000 Switzerland 6x Platinum 240,000
UK 11x Platinum 3,570,000 USA 27x Platinum 27,000,000

Thriller spent 255 days (Feb 26, 1983 - Apr 20, 1984) at #1 in the US, 144 in 1983 and 111 in 1984. It remained in the charts for 122 weeks overall. With over 104 million copies sold, it is the best-selling album ever[3][4] and made Jackson's fame global
. In 2007, NARM/The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ranked Thriller third on their "Definitive 200" albums list.[5]

Thriller is one of only three albums to spend a full year in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, spending 80 consecutive weeks there, 37 at #1. It was the first of three albums to have seven Billboard Hot 100 top-ten singles and the only album to date to be the best-seller of two years (1983-1984) in the USA[6]. It still sells an estimated 130,000 units in the USA per year.[7] In March 2003 Thriller re-entered the UK album chart at #39[8] and on November 4, 2007 "Thriller" re-entered the UK singles chart at #57.[9] In 2008, the Thriller album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.[10] It re-entered the Irish album chart at #5 February 14, 2008.[11]

Just trying to figure out the huge gap . I Love the Eagles, also , by the way .

When I was 12 years old I traded a Def Lepppard Pyromania cassette for a Thriller tape and to this day my brother still won't let me live it down even though was the bigger MJ fan at the time. When ever he brings the subject up I am forced to remind him that he attended the November 2nd 1984 Ornge Bowl performance of The Jacksons' Victory Tour with my parents and I and that I seem to recall him tapping his foot on occaision.
