THANKS
Rick Cautela for keeping Alrosa open.....Being of age 46, I am a long time patron who misses those radio adds and has many good times/shows to remember out of Alrosa....I have been back several times since the shooting.....And I too believe, IT could have happened ANYWHERE.....
Alrosa is a Metal Icon, in our little town of Columbus, that cannot let one person destroy.......I am sure DimeBAG, Halk, Bray and MayHEM would say, "The SHOW must go ON"..........

TODAY IS A SAD DAY FOR THE ROCK WORLD, DIMEBAG DARRELL ABBOT WAS THE GREATAST GUITARIST EVER, AND HE IS VERY, VERY SADLY MISSED, ME AND MY UNCLE HAD TICKETS TO GO TO THE SHOW THAT NIGHT BUT I HAD TO WORK AND WE GAVE THEM AWAY. I STILL FEEL TILL THIS DAY THAT IT WAS A BLESSING THAT I HAD TO WORK CAUSE WE WERE THE TWO THAT ALWAYS WENT TO THE FRONT AND I KNOW THAT WE WOULD HAVE TRIED TO INTERVINE AND WE MAY HAVE BEEN SHOT ALSO, SO YOU NEVER KNOW WHATS WAITING AROUND THE CORNER FOR ANYONE, BUT RICK CAUTELLA IS A GOOD MAN AND HE AND HIS FAMILY STILL HAVE THE BEST, SAFEST VENUE IN COLUMBUS, NO ONE KNEW WHAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN, WHO WOULD'VE EXPECTED IT ? BUT REST IN PEACE DIMEBAG, I TALKED TO A ROADEY THAT WAS AT RIVERSIDE HOSPITAL THE NEXT DAY AND HE SAID DIMEBAG WOULD GIVE YOU THE SHIRT OFF HIS BACK, WHY DID THAT COWARD KILL HIM ? AS FOR THE CAUTELLA FAMILY ROCK ON AND KEEP DOIN WHAT YOU DO, AND THANKS FOR 36 YEARS.

1 in 6 have mental health issues - that's not going to stop me from going out but damn that's scary! Just stay alert wherever you go and always have eyes in the back of your head! Hey doctors - STOP handing out pills like they're Flintstones chewables and take the time to evaluate these whackos!!

I am so sorryfor the loss everyone has had to go through. I wish Rick's father could have seen the comeback of the club. what good times we had with Rosie and the Godz... Just to mention a couple. I am also glad you are doing well Rick.I remember the place you guys had at the French Market.Maybe you could get some of the OLD (lol) bands back in there that would be a blast.I am just a good ole Salem Village gal.You never know what a few phone calls could do..God Bless and Thanks for the memories...

I'll have to agree with Jonathan. And Rick please take heart that this 51 year old memories of the Alrosa is not of the shootings but rather the great rock shows of my younger days. The Godz,Rosie, the Muffs and many others. After this story I feel the need to revisit one of my favorite hangouts.I just can't keep up with the new younger bands LOL.How about some reunion shows and I'll be there.RIP Dimebag and the others,God Bless Rick.

Let's thank officer ******meyer for the countless lives that he saved by being a hero and acting quickly to stop that man. I can't imagine having to live with blowing someone's head off with a shotgun at point blank range. I'm sure the tragedy weighs very heavy on him even though he acted perfectly that night. Thanks officer from a fellow NC grad.

A typical article that glorifies the "rock star" but essentially ignores the heroes. For five years since their murders, Erin Halk and Nate Bray,(residents of the Columbus area,) and Jeff Thompson, have been relegated to second class status, described as "three people who died trying to intervene." It's typical and disgusting. How about telling the real story? How about informing your readers of the facts. How about writing an article that has merit and substance. Jeff Thompson, Nate Bray and Erin Halk saved lives. They didn't "intervene" they took action, they stepped up, they put their lives on the line for no other reason than because it was the right thing to do. Jeff Thompson's actions save the life of Dimebag's brother. Vinnie Paul Abbott should thank god every night that Jeff Thompson "intervened". For his efforts Thompson took three bullets and died. Nate Bray was in the audience and climbed onto the stage to help Dimebag. He provided first aid to Abbott then moved onto Thompson, a man he had never met. While trying to help Thompson Bray was shot in the chest when he essentially came face to face with the killer. He died leaving behind a 23 year old wife and a three year old son. Erin Halk was a professional roadie, a guy who loved rock 'n' roll and who served his country as a US Marine. For three minutes during the attack, Halk looked for an opening to try to take out the gun man and free a hostage. At a point where the killer appeared to be reloading Halk rushed the shooter. Sadly he was shot five times during his heroic advance and died on the stage. These men didn't "intervene" they took initiative, they decided to take action and become involved. Not for glory, not for money, not for fame but for humanity. It's the same old story. We know who Jeffery Dahmer is, we know who John Gacy is, we know who Osama Bin Laden is...but rarely does "joe public" get to know the heroes and victims of these deranged killers. Disgusting.

I was and still am mystified that fans of Apocalyptic and Death themed music grieve and shed tears for what I see as the ultimate Metal show! You people should have erupted in a standing ovation when you got the REAL THING instead of some moron biting off the head of a chicken or aping Satan with guttural screams. BE TRUE TO YOUR GENRE OR REALIZE HOW IDIOTIC METAL MUSIC IS.(Big words may be looked up, this is not a quiz)

First, look up the the meaning of a comma splice as it's use in your parenthetical reference. Then, think about the fact that you're making these comments in light of four real people that died--four people whose musical preference had no relevance in the unfortunate circumstance.

This is easy enough you don't tell me what kind of music to listen to and I won't tell you what kind of beer to drink instead of that wussy white zinfandel wine sh8t. If you do Michael Jackson that's fine it's obvious your understanding of metal is zero which doesn't equate to being a hero.

The Godz played at Screamin Willies Oct. 30th and Eric Moore made it extremely clear the band would never play at the Alrosa again after he revealed how the management ran out of the bar carrying 3 weapons that could have been used to stop the killing inside before the police arrived. For those of us who've followed the band for more than a few years we could see the pain & rage that came to Eric's eyes when laying this all out it was so extreme. Before I forget thank you guys that show was the best birthday present. Remember we're all machines, the Godz are rock and roll machines.

It's not abnormal for the press to miss the 3 heros Jeff Thompson, Nate Bray and Erin Halk who gave their lives trying to stop this all from happening. Thank goodness Officer Niggemeyer (sad how you can't correctly spell someones name without political correctness happening) was able to stop the carnage.

Eric Moore is an idiot. You are an idiot for believing him. There were no "weapons" inside the venue that could have been used to try and stop what was happening. Do you really think Erin would have grabbed a beer bottle to attack with if there was something more powerful? Dimebag was shot and passed away in a matter of seconds. The actions of others who GAVE THEIR LIVES undoubtedly prevented others from being killed. I was there. I watched it all go down, from start to finish. It pisses me off when I read crap like this because it is 100% untrue.
