Some of the "GURU's" have meditated up a pretty posh lifestyle. That is a pretty neat trick. P.T.Barnum would have been proud....

Disappointing article to me. There's so much to say on the subject. Would you start meditating after reading this article?

Meditation looks to me like "sittin' an doin' nothin" The harder I work, the better I feel. Depression, sure but you've got to dig up the rocks to plant the tree.

look - every option to exercise our own inert abilities to effect a positive change to our health is in effect taking ownership of our intellect and issues. always including these options with and or over the drug culture's "only way to go" is a good thing. yes, rohayhu wendy, i believe it is true that the endorphines released through physical exersion directly effects the moods and state of minds of all people in a positive way. please enjoy the fact that when your not doing those things you still feel good.

The relief of any stress contributes to an healthier physical person; meditation tends to do that when appropriately practiced. "Yoga," means "Union," which signifies a wholist approach benefitting each of those in the union or "yoke," which is easy and light...

The nextest text of that level of importance in religion is variously given as "The Seven Last Words of Christ Jesus," of course there's lots in between to peruse and abuse, as well as subsequent harmonic text(s)

So scientists believe that meditation has an effect on the brain? That's hardly news to meditators.
I feel sadness for such people, because they fail to open to the full enormity of consciousness and trust only to that which is observable and provable. This is a huge irony because every experiment tests a hypothesis and every hypothesis starts with an original idea that was a spontaneous process of someone's mind...
Scientists and others who put all their faith in logic are missing a fundamental truth, which is that the human mind transcends logical reasoning. If this were not so, no truly original thought would be possible.
