And the band plays on

Karschner has no other choice. On this evening, his band has to rehearse four very different repertoires, for four very different appearances, including a Fourth of July performance in Quakertown on Wednesday.

I love that the Quakertown Band exists and produces great performances!

I just heard a story last week that a community band is shutting down because they've not had any "new blood" come in to keep the band going and all the old timers are ready to retire. So sad. Live music like this is what makes community celebrations come alive.

Thank you, Quakertown Band, for your great work. Keep on keepin' on and I hope you're continueing to open the doors for new, younger musicians to come in and learn the ropes so the band can continue for another 100+ years.

Agreed. They sounded great at the park. That guest singer was amazing. It must have been hard to sit in that heat and play for two hours.
