Hi Steve, I checked the album and it was Ingrid Mansfield Allman,
I just had a look on Discogs.com and it looks like she also appeard on
Chas Janke's - Chasanova album. Track, Johnny Funk.
I also found this article.
http://www.londonlee.com/2004/09/boogie-frida...

I AM AFORE MENTIONED INGRID MANSFIELD-ALLMAN. WHO IS THIS INGRID KENYON-JONES.THERE'S AN AWFUL LOT OF DOUBLE BARRELLED INGRID'S ABOUT.
SO HOW ARE ALL THE MUSO'S OUT THERE? STILL ATIT?
I AM STILL AM TOO FROM TIME TO TIME I FEEL THE CALLING.
I DID A DEGREE IN JOURNALISM A FEW YEARS AGO AND STILL DO THE ODD GIG AROUND FROM TIME TO TIME. NICE TO KNOW PEOPLE STILL REMEMBER MY EFFORTS...PEACE OUT-INGx

I have a couple of very old frineds celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. They were both real clubbers back in 1982. I thought I'd put together a CD of all great disco/dance tracks from that year ... any suggestions?

INGRID-THE VOICE OF SOUTHERN FREEEZ HERE WITH AN ANNOUNCEMENT:

I am on a mission to bring back LIVE jazz funk music to the pubs, clubs and bars of north London: I have launched a Jazz funk jam session at a north London pub:

The Princess Alexandra, Park Road Crounch End N8 The idea is to get back out there and sing the songs I love with some of those great musicians who have 'still got it'but who maybe like me stopped using it-We're a five peice band 'Lazy Dog'with me on vocals for the first half then hosting the second half which is a jam/showcase type of affair.Inviting various people to come up and jam together. ALL JAZZ FUNK MUSICIANS WELCOME

It's a great vibe already and after only two weeks
is developing a following.
So get down to the Alex Sundays 3.30-7-30p.m and
support the Urban Jazz funk cause & shake your thing (of course)
IT WILL BE GREAT TO SEE WHO COMES OUT OF THE WOODWORK
LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE

Hey you Britfunk people ..... Beggar & Co were live at the Jazz Cafe, Camden with Ingrid on stage doing two tracks including Southern Freeze last Saturday night 1st December 07. It was a sell out gig and a magical night !!! Ingrid was brilliant and the crowd loved it.

Beggar & Co have a new live CD "Brass, Strings N' Things" which is brilliant (shameless plug) on Mo Betta Jazzfunk label MBJ2 - go get it if you want to hear serious and live Britfunk.

Absolutely right! We came all the way from Copenhagen to hear this. Yes, we are a few Britfunk fans still alive over here too :o) It was absolutely brilliant - a thrill for me to see some of you guys on stage that I had previously only seen on my beloved record covers...Ingrid Mansfield, Camelle Hinds, Kenny Wellington, Mr. Baps, Breeze McKrieth and the rest of the guys. It was so good to see you all keeping the (brit)funk alive!

Hey Ingrid,

Went to the jazz cafe to see beggar & Co and freez 2007 and thought the whole night was fantastic. Had a passing word to you on the way out, just as the dj was playing southern freez. Just a quick question, did you enjoy the night, and singing southern freez? I was a little dissapointed although guilty myself, that the crowd sung so loud, and made it hard to hear you great vocals. Hope it didn't spoil it for you. I guess it was a great testimony to a great song and singer. Hope to see you perform again, great funk memories, thanks again.
