The original Religion of the Jews, that is the Temple arrangement, was wiped off the face of the earth in the year 70 when the Roman armies destroyed Jerusalem, and the Jews were enslaved and despersed over the earth. There is only speculation today as to what and who are the Jewish families and of who belong to the tribes and what this means to Jews. The establishment of Synagogues as their place of worship is to study the Torah, not to worship Jehovah God, the one true God in heaven. Jehovah disowned the nation of Israel in the year 36 for killing his son, who was proved to be the Messiah for that nation.

Yet Jesus the Jew named his killers (gentiles).

I guess you missed the memo.

Luke 18:31-32

Jesus took the Twelve disciples aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. He will be handed over to the Gentiles.

They (gentiles) will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him.

Compare your answer with this

2 Samuel 12: 9 “Wherefore hast thou (David) despised the word of the LORD, to do that which is evil in My sight? Uriah the Hittite thou(David) hast smitten with the sword, and his wife thou hast taken to be thy wife, and him thou hast slain with the sword of the children of Ammon

cite verse.

And indeed, you are correct to say that it was Uriah’s enemy David who killed him as is clearly stated in the following “2 Samuel 12: 9 “Wherefore hast thou (David) despised the word of the LORD, to do that which is evil in My sight? Uriah the Hittite thou(David) hast smitten with the sword, and his wife thou hast taken to be thy wife, and him thou hast slain with the sword of the children of Ammon

Sorry, wrong passage

2 Samuel 11

16
And it came to pass, when Joab kept watch upon the city, that he assigned Uriah unto the place where he knew that valiant men were.
17
And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab; and there fell some of the people, even of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.
18
Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;
19
and he charged the messenger, saying:'When thou hast made an end of telling all the things concerning the war unto the king,
20
it shall be that, if the king's wrath arise, and he say unto thee: Wherefore went ye so nigh unto the city to fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall?
21
who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast an upper millstone upon him from the wall, that he died at Thebez? why went ye so nigh the wall? then shalt thou say: Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.'
22
So the messenger went, and came and told David all that Joab had sent him for.
23
And the messenger said unto David:'The men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entrance of the gate.
24
And the shooters shot at thy servants from off the wall; and some of the king's servants are dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.'

17.“And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab; and there fell some of the people, even of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.”

The verse does not say who killed Uriah. Is it his own people? Or is it the men of the city?

21.“Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.' Does not say who killed him.

24.“And the shooters shot at thy servants from off the wall; and some of the king's servants are dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.'”

Yes Uriah is dead, but who killed him was it his own people or was it the shooters?

I am following the story, but I thought that my questions were and are valid based on the verses you gave me.

Eric, the bottom-line is, the scripture clearly says that David killed Uriah with the sword and this is a fact.

2 Samuel 12:9 Why have you despised the commandment of the Lord, doing evil in His sight? You have slain Uriah the Hittite with the sword and have taken his wife to be your wife. You have murdered him with the sword of the Ammonites.”

Yes, the Ammonites killed Uriah with the sword but the killing is clearly attributed to David. Note “You (David) have slain Uriah the Hittite with the sword” this is inescapable.

I believe that to accept the clear reading of the scripture is something you will agree with and therefore I say again “Uriah the Hittite thou(David) hast smitten with the sword” JPS

Can anyone give me a good reason why I was not fortunate to get an easy question like this when I was a student?

To answer the question, I would choose to be a true Jew i.e. one who lives only by the word of God and not the teachings of men.

Why? I say this with respect, the Muslims are deceived and in my opinion are not worshiping the Eternal.
