I agree with Dogg on this,Doggystyle is a classic and can never be beat also he still rocks he is just different. I would take it as far as I like his song with Willie Nelson,Pussycat Dolls, when he sings and even his new alter Ego Reggae Snoop Lion,He still got it! My Opinion. If you say Snoop is Overated then who do you think is the best?
Exactly ID! Doggystyle has been acknowledged as one of,(if not THE), greatest hip-hop/gangsta rap albums of all time - he is not overrated whatsoever - he is just 'rated' as one of the best. If anything, i think people are too hars on his tranformation from gangsta to pimp/pop-star...perhaps he just got too carried away with money :/

Who do I think is best? There are lots of better mcs out there than Snoop Dogg and I'd have Cube any day over Snoop. Sorry, I didn't mean to cause any offence but I still say Snoop is overrated. However, I must concede that Nuttin' But a "G" Thang is a great song (although it's Dre feat. Snoop).

Yeah but virtually all of the songs on Doggystyle out-did The Chronic - Nuthin' but a "G" Thang was a brilliant song, but not as good as Gin and Juice or Who Am I?(What's My Name?). And I think it's a shame that, sad to say, if Snoop had've died shortly after Doggystyle or Tha Doggfather, he would have been hailed as even greater than Pac... And if Pac had have lived, he would have deteriorated like Snoop Doggy Dogg did. Thoughts on this controversial topic anyone? <3

In the Words of Biggie " Your Nobody till Somebody Kills you "
I somewhat agree on the comment except that I hated the Doggfather CD Doggystyle is a Classic! Pac may have deterioted but he wouldn't have gone Reggae,lol...Although Snoop Lion may grow on me.

Aargh Tha Doggfather is also a classic!(Just a little less street crip gangsta and more old school gangsta)! An yeeeaah but you never know: Tupac was perhaps just as prone to beig carried away with money as Snoop Dogg, but we'll never know -(unless he does reappear in 2014, in which ase I am going to have to eat a few socks and pay a few people ;))

Not too sure about Kendrick, but I agree Dre is a West Coast Legend. He MADE many rappers who they are today, and still managed to push through two multi platinum EPs

Yeah you're right about Tupac! And ermm all were good, but the best are 'Doggfather','Snoop's Upside Ya Head!','Freestyle Conversation'(which is a massive awesome freestyle, almost as good as Tha Shiznit on the Doggystyle album), and ''2001"... And sure I'll take a look, you seem like you have good music taste :) i'll give feedback soon :D

Yeah, but speaking of Dre sidekicks No One Can Do It Better by The D.O.C is way better than Snoop's first album. Shame about the d.o.c by the way :( Also I don't think Snoop was as much of a 'street poet' so to speak as Pac which is why he is so deservedly remembered.

Sorry to have to disagree, but I'd say,(along woth many others and official records), that Doggystyle is the best hip-hop album ever recorded...i didnt see anything special about No One Can Do It Better, sorry to say. An yes it is a shame about The D.O.C's voice, but as Snoop says in Dre's "The Chronic Intro"; - "Peace to Tha D.O.C...still makin' it funky enough!" And again, to defend Snoop,(who, as you might have gathered is my all time favourite rapper), I reckon he WAS even more of a street poet ... After all, he was the first rapper to live what he rapped after his murder trial in '94.

Haha well I dunno; it meant that he not only talked the talk butvhe also walked the walk ;) I suppose it wa quite cool, not that a 187 looks good on a resume/CV :S and ermmm i love The Chronic (Dre), Dogg Food (Tha Dogg Pound), Predator (Ice Cube), The Dead Has Arisen (lil' 1/2 Dead) and Murder Was The Case (multiple artists). What about you? And favourite hip hop song?:)

Wow. You do favour the West Coast :) Do you like any East Coast? My favourite albums are Strictly Business (EPMD), I Takes A Nation Of Millions To hold Us Back (Public Enemy), The Low End Theory (A Tribe Called Quest), The Infamous (Mobb Deep) and Liquid Swords (GZA/Genius).
Best song? Hmm...tricky...well my best posse cut is either Two To The Head (Kool G Rap, Ice Cube, Scarface and Bushwick Bill - Check it out, it ROCKS) or The Symphony. Sorry, but I don't really have a favourite song :)

PS: Best Ice Cube album is the predator? I like Amerikkka's Most the best because he was so angry and the production is great from the bomb squad. Although It was a good day is probably his best song :D
Also 'not that a 187 looks good on a resume/CV' made me laugh out loud:D

Haha yeah I have been addicted to West Coast hip hop/ gangsta rap since I heard Snoop Dogg on a game's soundtrack... You ever played NFS Underground 2? And no loool, i have never liked East Coast rap, it just doesnt have that oomph which makes West Coast better, along with the fact that many West Coast rappers (Dogg Dre Pac Daz etc) came from poverty, through crime and drugs, into the music business to make millions. And yeah I couldn't agree more Amerikkka's most wanted was a better album technically, but Prefator spawned his best ever singles "Good Day" and "Check Yo Self". I like his (fourth?) album as well though, Lethal Injection, cause it comes under the G-Funk genre, which Dr. Dre pioneeered and I perhaps even prefer to the raw gangsta rap that was NWA.
And haha I didn't know if you were British or American, so I had to put 'resume' just in case ;) and I guess you're british with the way you spell 'favourite'? Or perhas Canadian?:)

Haha yeah British :) No I've never played NFS Underground 2 is it good? And yeah, I suppose g-funk can be much more enjoyable to relax to than 'No Vaseline' for example!:D

Yeah it was quite good actually, but I was just saying that it was where I first heard Snoop and began to love the West coast Scene :) and yeah g-funk just seems less raw and much more complex and 'soft',(even though the lyrics adopted by Snoop n Dre in the early '90s were far from 'soft'!), than the original gangsta rap of the late '80s. It seemed to involve all the "topics" and lyrical contents of gangsta rap, but with a more enjoyable backing track, and more focus on the sound rather than the beat or the loud voice :D
