I'm sorry SRD, but I'm on a tight schedule this time. It has to be done within 3 days. I you can't do this then let Rapswipe take your place.

Validating each round takes time so I have to consider that.

i've skimmed through some of these entries and i can't believe that some of these guys actually believe they're decent. like, is this a middle school forum?! get real.
i'm definitely down for the next trny. if anyone else would like a sample of my work, get at me. just post a thread with my name in it to call me out. deuces..
In all fairness, I think Flames graduated middle school. DJ Hellno, I think is just starting to write horrorcore. I think Hannibal is new, but SRD, Phaze, Chitown, and Seanny T are dope. Usually it the 2nd rounds on are much better.

As for a November tourney, I had one, but was disappointing because only a few textcees here can rap to a concept. I will have to make the rules easier to have more entries. A lot of people want me to revive the video game tourney so I might have a Pushing Buttons 2 tourney.

No offense shini but can we talk about how good somebody is in the HOF thread. This is horrorcore I meant no harm or anything offensiveness to come from this just an opinion

I think he was referring to the terrible drops. I didn't mention you because I barely know your work. Your drop was okay. Nothing phenomenal though. It was probably the best I read from you thus far.

Actually the HOF is not for that. It is to praise noteworthy works. I only have some negative HOF catagories for comedic reasons and to reprimend people on their stupidity. So far I have a few candidates for worst drop.

you'd think new kids would like concept tourneys because it gives you a criteria to talk about. 9/10 of people who think they can "rap" just rhyme words and call it a rap or simply flow about several different topics in a few bars. that's extremely sloppy and quite frankly it's garbage.

this horrorcore tourney allows for them to focus on one subject - violence, nothing else. gory, graphic, bloody violence. that's as simple as can be. but as if it wasn't already made easy, they get a certain weapon they have to incorporate into the rap? that makes it even less difficult because now they know what their focal point is and they can wrap the context around that weapon.

as for who's good or not, i'll be able to determine that over the next few days. i hope round 2 is better, which i assume will be. i think chitown wants to go at it, but i haven't seen a thread put up yet with my name on it. we'll see, though..

Actually depending on the weapon it can still be hard. Some people could also write better if there is no weapon and the just structure it themselves. I just threw in weapons to change it up. If some people can write better with weapons, so be it.

Horrorcore is also different from punchline raps. It relies on more on storytelling, imagery and depictions rather than dissing, although I have read decent horrorcore drops with disses in them.

true, i suppose. i just can't help but hear eminem, royce, joe budden, and all of slaughter house when i think of horrorcore. kendrick could pull it off, too. if kanye was flowing right, he could as well as pusha t.

you've never heard either of them freestyle, have you? i've seen pusha freestyle in real life off the dome. it wasn't "horrorcore" but it could've easily been adjusted to fit the definition.

I had it written again, but I started over. You are not after word play or any intricacy as I notice. It is super simple and that is a little harder, as the weapons you chose don't flow easy together.

I agree with srd a bit. An icepick? I thin Freddie would choose a tissue paper over an icepick. BUT I liked the challenge. ;)

Well, there is also the issue that the weapons we are given are very well covered and known.

I see these and I get pissed, because I know all the current spills for the weapons amd they are very linear on a path to creating some awesome. I would enjoy a more open ended possibility, the reason being is it allows a more open idea. I can be more creative, like using a squeegie to wipe off the blood from a window. Which I can then look up the name of Johnny Cage's movie where he's a proffessional money theif with O.C.D., which allows more variety and creative endeaver. As it stands, the creativity is like threading something new through a pile of baseball sized rocks.

Well there some people that are good at that and bad at storytelling. I wanted a story driven tourney this time around. You can always add the intricacy to flavor up the storytelling.

Thanks to eLEHMANator for assisting with votes. The first rounds sadly was a bit cut and dry. SRD pulled off that upset too. I honestly thought Chitown would have won that, but it's all good.

Round 2 is 6 bars Remember the weapon is there to incorporate. You don't have to make a drop solely on it. You can add you own weapons, too.

The ladder actually looks pretty dope so far. I think this round will be more debatable.

Rhyme Jar (a rusty pickaxe) vs. SRD (a repeating crossbow)

Phaze (a blowtorch) vs. DJ Hellno (a katana)

Remember get creative. This round will be 6 bars. Due in 3 days.
