I found this psychological gothic thriller to be a heady mix of Irvine Welsh's 'Trainspotting' and Ruth Rendell's 'Portobello'.
I really don't want to give too much away but the basic outline of the plot is that a chance encounter with one of his school bullies leads the lead character (Billy - who's you a young goth guy)) to take drastic action, an action that he hoped would take away the pain and humiliation he had felt during those precious childhood days. However when his only childhood friend re-enters his life, his carefully laid plans begin to spiral out of his control and he is confronted with the real possibility that the new start might not actually happen as the net starts to close in around him. Then fate takes a hand and maybe not all is lost...
This contains a great many scenarios, locations, characters and events that will ring true to those of us with an 'alternative' lifestyle/mindset.
