The bottom line is this, music, no matter what the color or flavor, is the only experience we as human beings share collectively, and it makes me sick to see people berating others musical interests in this forum. I don't like all music, in fact I'm really picky, but that doesn't make me want to talk down to another INDIVIDUAL for his/her taste in music. Music is the last thing on this earth that has the power to bring the entire population of the globe together, but because "I don't like that little Wayne or that Brad Paisley booming from your stereo, I'm not going to give you the time of day." that's just one less chance to connect with another human being, who could've shared the same thoughts and ideals on life, love, and happiness as you do. That's what Tool is all about, open-mindedness, and progress, and you can't get the latter without the former.

Why does do so many people bag on 10,000 days. Lateralus was great but 10,000 days is better, more polyrhythems, more lyrical encryption, more technical drumming, a variety of vocal styling--Tool just keeps getting better and better. People who say tool should have retired after lateralus are people who know nothing about music. Because as someone who has studied music, it is obvious that 10,000 days is more advanced.

Truth indeed sir. I used to sit around and play guitar along with AEnima almost effortlessly, then Lateralus came and I struggled, but after a few months I had it. Then 10k days came and twenty seconds into Vicarious, I put my guitar down.

New album might = tour downunder, so yeah... bring it on. I <3 every album, every piece of music they produce. It's inspiring.
