Tool should play music till they fall apart from old age. it isnt every day you have a band like them come out, so why would you want them to retire? Tool is one of those band that just "have it" and have gotten better with age in a technical sense. With all the repetitive crap that blares on the radio now, id like a new tool album to reboot the masses, and another era as good as classic rock or grunge to come around. Right now the recording industry is at a stand still begging for a new sound that stands out and doesnt have pathetic mainstream wannabes trying to copy it. Everyone is doing the same crap and its making reallise ppl arent making music for music lovers but for commercials and the narrow minded masses.

i have to disagree with who ever said that tool should have retired after lateralus. Obviously 10,000 days was no lateralus but then again lateralus is no Ænima. We can clearly see that all of tools albums are unique and all sound different. But they are all amazing. Like everyone in this thread i cant wait till the next tool album comes out. However like kill8joy said in order for them to produce something great, it will take time. PATIENCE IS KEY! And if Maynard Wants to make wine he should. Everyone would want a taste of his wine. it shall be the best damn wine anyone will ever taste :D

tool should definatly come out with a new album, but i also think maynard should keep doin what he does. you should think of how his personality is, and its obvious he hates bein worshipped like a god. yes tool is my favorite band ever nothin comes close, but i also listen to a perfect circle, and puscifer, both great bands, and are unique in thier own way. all the bands he has been in all sound unique, and thats why i like maynard so much. he is very creative, and doesnt give a fuck of what people think of him. hence the song, hooker with a penis. so before you go on rantin and ravin about how he should come back to tool, and should have retired and whatever else bullshit, do some research. in an interview between some one and maynard, he stated that tool would not stop makin music until one of them dies.

agreed! Plus we have to look at maynard as a person. He has other hobbies that he enjoys cause they have a artistic or creative aspect envolved. So some of his time is consumed through that. Also we havew to give him time to find inspiration so that the songs that he writes (like all of his songs)so they have an impact and has a message for us. Not just midless dribble that could be written withen an hour or two. Lastly he is associated with Pusifer and A Perfect Circle. So Maynard cant devote every waking hour to the production of songs for tool. The point that i am trying to make is that maynard and the rest of the band have other things going on. So i wouldnt anticipate a new album soon. But heres praying

i get a kick out of people who say what they think bands should do...they should retire after lateralus, lol, 1o,0o0 days is by far the best music they have come out with, they are growing if you ask me, i dont even think they have hit there peak yet, if every band came out with the same shit on every album they made it wouldnt even be worth having a band, i was in a band and loved it, but i had ideas too, so the next album had alot of my style to it and we did just as good.Tool as one is a god, i can get lost in every album and each new album i hope and pray has its own sound and meaning, peace to all and FUCKING TOOL MAN!!!

i love Tool, my one and only favorite band, nothing can even come close to them, but [email protected] people....everyone thinks they know Tool but in reality you don't know shit, its all Maynard this and Tool that, if you go to a Tool show and look in the crowd, it is like 90% punk ass kids, do you think Maynard and the rest of the band want to be followed by these people, im sure they have families that don't want to associate with people like that, if Maynard wants to make wine let him, and i bet if you get a chance to buy it you will and worship it, its fucking wine and its only fucking music....lol you are all a bunch of TOOLS

I have followed Tool since 1995 and seen them perform 4 times over there career and I have to say I feel th lack of respect they show there fans has become to much for me to take! As musicians of course they are amazing but has anyone seen mastadon or gojira?? On Tool live when thy play to a festival audience and have to impress other fans from all walks of life they play 90 minutes of none stop prog delux but when you fork out nearly £70 to see your favourite band and play 8 songs in 2 hours spending %20 of the show letting there instruments feed back and indulging that twat from Dragonforce to solo over TOOL music (what the fuck). I was honestly heart broken!! What's up with 10000 days as well? Or Lateralus 2 shall I say! With only 5 or 6 actual songs on the record and the majority of the album dedicated to nothing more than passing the time! And I waited 5 yars for this glorified ep!!! Dont get me wrong if TOOL Get back to pushing the limits again I will be there with my dick in my hand but until then I will be checking out some truely creative forces in Cracke the sky or Wrath!!!

Tool F***ing ROCKS!! If you think you can grasp any meaning throughout one of their songs lyrics then you thought wrong. Maynard basically has a way of getting across messages in unique verbal acuity but also tends to hide the real important meanings as well.

Listen to the song Lateralus. Don't even attempt to decypher its meaning. Sure it has something to do with smoking the intensely potent Psychedelic substance DMT but is much more, its filled with revelations after his hallucingenic experiences not the experiences themselves.

I love bands' that leave lyrics open to put them into your own thoughts or when you have to figure them out by yourself. Im tired of rap and country and all these new bands that spell everything out for you. 2 more years until the next album(hopefully) im stoked for it!
