I am not Gothic, but I have a question which I believe requires some Gothic insight. A lot of bands I know play a song called "Everyday is Halloween"-from Astro Vamps to Spooky DeVille to Ministry-and though there are subtle differences, each of the versions is basically the same song. In other words, several bands that describe themselves as "dark" or "gothic" have played this song. Therefore, I am inquiring as to who originally wrote the song, and if it is a "staple" amongst Gothic bands. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

My personal Response to this, which may be different for everyone else, is : Halloween is fun. Have fun everyday. Our band is Creepy but lighthearted and our Shows are Fun and interactive...Just like Halloween.

Not really...Especially since Astro Vamps and Spooky DeVille are not Gothic...It's Psychobilly plus just because you are into Horror movies and creepy fun does not mean you are Gothic.

I dont really think that Spooky DeVille really thinks every day is hallow's eve a night better known as halloween you would have to be a compleat ass to even argue about this song's title they just rote it for fun i know all of them there my bro's frein"kid gruesome" to fans but nay for me and there not gothic its psycobilly and hard core and it is a mix between rockabilly and horror music and if you dont know what rockabilly is well your a shitty person

I agree with Mark...Psychobilly is a genre that is just supposed to be fun. Like Halloween is to kids. put 2 and 2 together. Spooky DeVille and Astro Zombies like to have fun and write songs that reflect that. Get a sense of humor

Speaking of Spooky DeVille, I just saw them with Calabrese and they are amazing Live. One of the most entertaining acts I have seen yet.

I am definatly driving to AZ to see them with Chop Tops and Mad Sin.

yeah...They are damn good. Aren't they playing the Hollywood Showdown in California this year with Guana Batz - Wanda Jackson and Frantic Flintstones?

Yes they are...They are one of the best bands I have ever seen live. I had so much fun during the Spooky DeVille set. They know how to get the crowd pumped up.

I can't belive that they are only 1 year old!

Hey, this is Billy Diesel from Spooky DeVille...I am here for a few reasons, first to thank all of you guys for showing support and keeping the dream un-dead. You are the reason we play music, and without you all coming to the shows, buying our stuff, there is no scene. So always support your local bands and keep the ball rolling. Second I would like to once and for all clear up the definition of "Psychobilly". It is a genre that draws inspiration from a wide range of influences. Every psycho band in history has always brought something new to the world. The main influences are the old style rock and roll (Elvis, Jerry Lee, Jonny Cash, etc) and a lot of bands stay close to that root. The "psycho" in it comes from the lyrical content itself. A lot of horror movies, zombies, etc. The difference between it and "goth", is that for psychobilly kids, it is more of a good time. Take for example our song "Waltz in Z minor". It is about zombies that just want to dance...That is what we are about; having fun, spending time with your freinds, and trying not to take life too seriously. Life is hard enough and crazy as it is, no need to dwell on it... Once again thanks for supporting us and the scene and check by the Vamp Club MySpcae page to stay in the Spooky know!! Just ask Mark about it...
