The culture of Goth has several sub cultures - what type are you?- I am generally labeled as a romantic goth - I like alot of the traditional "gothy" things people think of - black lace, heavy black make-up, moon light and ballet type dancing. Naturally, I gravitate towards music like The Cruxshadows, Apoptygma Bezerk, Assemblage 23, VNV Nation and Anders Manga.

But there are also perky goths, industrial goths, fantasy goths and more...I just wonder who you are and what music you listen to...

I really am not sure to what kind of goth I am. If any. See, I love the Cruxshadows, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Switchblade Symphony, Bella Morte, BlutEngel, VNV Nation and stuff like that. But on the other hand, I do also like some punky kind of stuff. I'm also into the Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Cheap Sex, Chaos UK, Sham 69 and stuff like that. I love velvet, lace and satin, but at the same time, plaid, buttons, and chains.*Scratches Head* I'm more of a Goth-Punk? I really am not sure. All I know is that I like what I like.*Shrugs*

Yes, but some of our preferences override others. as in what would you shoose over the other and how do you dress when clubbing etc. It is those inclinations that put you in a class. And you don't have to stay there - Heaven for fend!! you are welcome to walk among whomever you wish. Although the Perky's never seem to change class - LOL - they will always be the Barbies of our world. The only people we tolerate (note the word tolerate) to skip and smile like crazy as they move around the room.*rolls eyes* There is just no helping some people....

Actually there are alot of tests out there - have been since the 90s. Try this one:

http://quizfarm.com/run.php/Quiz...

I like it because some older Goth actually put understanding outsiders in it and thats where alot of the mallgoths fall. You also get not just one category, but a % readout of how you fall into the other categories. Because afterall, we do listen to a variety of music and admire other types of clothes. It also is a verifiable quiz because it covers true goth history and music, not MCR and fall out boy ^^, heh heh.

See how you do...

You scored as a Death Rocker
You are a Death Rocker. You think beyond the 80s (cause you really like zombies, psychedelia, and B-movies) and are into the colorful, twisted side of the goth culture (which is portrayed in all your lovely horror-rock shows).

and I had a tie with old-school goth.

this is my score:

You scored as a Anything-Goes Goth
You are very open minded. You may or may not be devoted to your "Gothickry," but you aren't anal about it either way, and you are willing to explore the various niches of the gothic subculture. Click on my name to take my other tests if you liked this one.

I never would've thought..........

You scored as a Old-school Goth
You are an old-school goth. Forget Tina and Rogue, your idols are still Siouxsie and Peter and Fat Bob, and black lipstick and white powder is still the way to go. Click on my name to take my other tests if you liked this one.

Its funny though, I did only go clubbing once [but would like to do it again, it was intriguing]. I wore my fishnets, a shorter velvety skirt w/ lace trim and a black tunic type shirt with a corset over it. That was fun though. Shame that a few of the kids that I knew from the town I used to live in were there. It was fun though. The 80s room upset me though, I thought it would play 80s Goth Rock bands. No!!!!! I walked in and they were playing 'Karma Chameleon'[if I spelled it right. I'm so tired right now, Idk what the heck I was talking about when I started writing this. Just that it was off topic. Really off topic.]

You seem pretty conservative to me...very root oriented. I think it sounds on target =D. You're in one of the Old school groups like me.

(since we are off subject anyway)

Club Necropolis does our nights several times a week at one of the local clubs.

http://www.clubnecropolis.com/necropolismain....

80s night is fabulous becaus it is all the new wave roots - alot of elders out for that. And then Wednesday is Industrial/EBM/etc - Fabulous...In a couple of weeks the is a Heaven or Hell costume gig on wed night. I am so glad I moved to Florida - Alabama was the pits for a Goth...

We are getting off topic again. But PA is ok.......to my knowledge there is a Alternative/Goth Night at Nocturne in Philly. I've heard talk of a few other clubs that cater to an alternative night, but I'm not real sure. Shame that Draculas Ball was last Saturday. I didn't get to go.

I wonder how many people have secretly taken this quiz and not answered? Or how many emos or mallgoths have taken it and gone "Projekt? Bauhaus? Bat Cave? Giger? What the....?"

Too true. But why are good, credible threads like these getting almost no replies recently and everyones flocking to threads that involve MCR and Good Charlotte and Simple Plan, which are above all NOT GOTH?!?!?!?!
These threads actually have some merit and are about Goth and Gothic Culture. Tsk tsk.

To my knowledge, the mallgoths and emos basically have free reign of this forum.
